Flight.
We swam through the winding tunnels and caves, never looking back but knowing they were right behind us. I couldn't see anything but I was hoping Emerald could. She seemed to be able to see in the darkness. We continued to swim and suddenly we swam into a current that carried us quickly down even more tunnels. Slowly, the hissing and roaring died down until it was quiet. Emerald swam out of the current when I noticed a small bit of light coming from the right. We swam towards the light and it led us out into what I can only describe as an Ocean- Suddenly- I realized I couldn't breathe anymore- I started coughing, inhaling and exhaling water- She noticed and carried me to the surface, dragging me to the land. I started coughing up water. Inhaling and exhaling heavily- I hugged Emerald again and she licked my nose. We sat there for a few minutes on the beach while I breathed heavily. After a few minutes, I tried to stand up and immediately fell back down. Emerald noticed I couldn't stand and walked over behind a few bushes and came back with a flower that had dark blue and purple petals and dropped it in front of me. I looked at her confused. She split the flower in half and ate part of it, then gestured for me to do the same.
"Are you crazy-?"
"Bark."
"..."
I sighed picked up the flower, and ate it. It tasted like caramel and- Butterscotch-?... As soon as I swallowed it my breathing went back to normal and the scars on my hands, arms, and legs from climbing trees and hunting fully healed.
"W-what- How-...."
She looked at me and licked my nose, then laid down next to me, laying her head in my lap. I start petting her and look as the sun starts to set.
