Cursed?..
Kendi led me and Emerald out onto her balcony. The view was incredible- Although I didn’t understand why we were there.
“Wow-… But I doubt you just brought us out here for the view.”
Kendi: “Definitely not- If I’m going to train you. We need to get back down- “
“Please no- It took us 2 hours just to get up here- “
Emerald: “Bark!”
“Ok- 3- but still- “
Kendi: “Oh- no we’re not climbing down. We’re gonna glide down!”
“Glide?” I am confused. She nods and walks over to the right side of the balcony and moves a large leaf aside to reveal 2 gliders- they both looked like giant mushrooms. She hands one to me then steps onto the railing of the balcony with the other glider in her hands.
Kendi: “Just jump and the wind will do the rest!”
“…I- I’m not sure about- “
Kendi completely ignored what I was going to say and jumped down, -Idk how gliders work. - It was like she was just slowly falling- well until a strong gust of wind caught her and sent her in a different direction. I looked over at where Emerald was but she wasn’t there. I sighed and stepped onto the railing. Holding on tightly to the handles of the mushroom glider. After a few minutes of hesitation, I looked back and saw Emerald right behind me- she was about to
“EMERALD DON’T YOU DARE I SWEAR- “
I was cut off by Emerald ramming into me and pushing me off the railing- I closed my eyes tightly while trying not to scream but failing- after a few minutes I opened my eyes and looked over at Kendi who had done this before since she was as calm as a sleeping cat next to a fireplace in the middle of winter- I looked back to where Emerald was but didn’t see her on the balcony. Suddenly I heard a bark from above- I looked up and saw Emerald flying above me! She looks down at me and smiles (Again- the best a wolf can smile-). She flew down next to me and she barked. And I could see a lot more clearly- She had wings! She had wings! Black feathered wings with the tips of the feathers fading from an Emerald green on the outside to an even darker green color on the inside. I looked around as the wind currents guided us through the air and to what seemed to be a hidden pond. I landed in front of Kendi who was waiting for us. She took my glider and leaned it against a tree then walked over to the pond.
Kendi: ‘Alright. First things first. This pond is magical and can help others use their magic easily.”
“Ok…?”
Kendi then turned into a cat and jumped into the pond with a 'Splash' - I walked over to the edge of the pond and I suddenly felt something- or someone- knocked into me and pushed me into the pond. Followed by three barks.
What she said: “EMERALD I SWEAR- “
What it sounded like she said: “BARK-”
I cut myself off as I fell into the pond. When I finally resurfaced I looked at my hands-…. Which were no longer hands-… I had- paws-? I climbed out of the pond and spun around endlessly trying to see what in the world was going on. Suddenly I heard Kendi call out from the pond.
Kendi: “Hey look at that! You’re a Dire-wolf! -….. ...Wait-… No….”
“Bark-?? Bark bark-?!???- “ = “What-? What wait no???!!- “
Kendi: “……pointed ears…. Red eyes…. Tips of the ears and tail colored red-….”
Realization seemed to hit her like a frat train- But of course, I wouldn’t know why until later. Kendi climbed out of the pool and ran over to me.
