Strange.
As the light of the sun came in through the opening entrance of the den, casting shadows with the burning fire. I slowly wake up to the songbird's call and the blue jay's song. When I sit up and look around the den I see that the small wolf is gone!
{No...no no... such a small wolf could get hurt on her own-}
I quickly grab my spear and crawl out of the den, looking around and seeing her pawprints in the dirt, leading to the mountain.
"No- No! - She'll get hurt if she goes to the mountain- There are mountain lions and bobcats! And bears!"
I grab my net from the den and head towards the mountain, running as fast as I can. As I run towards the mountain, the air starts getting colder and colder the closer I get, it isn't even winter and it's already so cold... I continued running, running up a narrow path, following her paw prints which were starting to fade. I start running faster, being mindful of all the fallen branches and roots.
"-.."
I was about to call out for her- she doesn't even have a name!
"...WOLF?!?!- EMERALD WOLF????- ARE YOU THERE-?!"
I make it to the top of the mountain and see her sitting in a patch of grass, surrounded by the snow. I walk over and sit down next to her, looking out at the view.
"You scared me, you know... you could have gotten hurt..."
After a few minutes, she turned to me and licked my nose,
{Dang it...- She's so cute-}
"...Well, I guess I can't stay mad at you forever."
I smiled and she crawled over into my lap, curling up into a ball of fluff. I lay down in the patch of grass which is oddly warm, and she lays down next to me. We slowly fall asleep as the sun sets, casting a warm golden glow over the valley.
