Fight or Flight.
We sit at the base of the tree for probably two hours before hearing a roar. I look around but see nothing, even though the tree is glowing I still can't see anything. We hear the roar again, this time louder. and suddenly a current of water rushes past us. I looked around and saw the light of the tree reflecting off- something... Emerald grabs onto me and tries moving me to the surface but it's blocked! -
"No-.... Oh no..."
I look back and am met with the face of a Giant snake-like beast- We stare at each other for a few minutes and I swear when I saw it my heart stopped 5 separate times. It looked at us for a few minutes before growling and roaring again. The sound echoed through the caves. Emerald realized how close it was and dragged me down a random cave. It started following us through the darkness. We went down another cave and were stuck at a wall. I put my hand on the wall and- It wasn't a wall-... it was- scaley-? It took me a few minutes to realize it was part of the snake's body. Emerald dragged me down another cave which led us down deeper. It wasn't as dark, but still dark. When my eyes finally adjusted to the brightness, my heart sank. We were surrounded, by more of those serpents. granted they were A lot smaller, but still... They seemed to all be sleeping. I was about to touch the floor of the room when Emerald stopped me by pushing me to the side and back up. There was a sea snake where I was originally... I hugged Emerald for keeping me from getting bit. But we weren't safe yet. The giant serpent caught up to us, its roar waking up all the others. I couldn't see anything. All I could hear was A lot of roars followed by a lot of hissing. I suddenly got dragged by my hair, most likely by Emerald- down a different tunnel, Again. With all of the serpents chasing us. I couldn't swim against the currents since I wasn't strong enough. But I'm glad Emerald somehow was. She led us down through the winding tunnels, leading us deeper and deeper into the underwater cave systems.
