{ The Temple in the Sky }
As I'm ready to leave the sleeping house, I get a letter dropped off by a dark brown screech owl. I pick it up and it reads:
' ~ + Dear Lyra, there has been a change of plans.
Meet us at the gates. Same time. Bring Emerald.
-Queen Norvia & King Aroco of Arramia. + ~ '
I put the letter into my bag and walked out of the sleeping house. Emerald follows me and we make it to the gates where I- see them-... I mean-... I can see them-... Queen Norvia is a Dark gray dragon cat with black and light gray markings, along with Teal/Green eyes and the scales on her wings and tail reflect purple and blue. King Aroco is a dark brown/red/amber/golden colored Winged Kitsune with Gold eyes. As I walk towards them They turn and look at me then smile slightly. Alex is also there- already outside of the gate. When I finally make it to where they are they open the gate and start running along the side of the wall.
Alex: "Come on"
I nodded and followed after them- Though I will admit it was harder for me to keep up considering they had four legs and I only had two-. After what seemed like forever, we finally stopped at 2 large doors in the mountainside. made of what looked like Marble and pearls. The King and Queen went inside first, then Alex, Then me and Emerald. It was a large circular room, there were four pillars embedded with pearls, diamonds, and other gems. In the center of the room on the floor was a large flower-... It looked like the one Emerald healed me with- but it was a much lighter shade of blue and purple.
Alex: "Stand in the center and we'll start."
I walk over to the center of the room and stand there looking at them slightly confused.
Queen: "Now close your eyes and focus on as many animals as you can, even magical animals. The magic in this room will sort through your thoughts and pick the animal that fits you best."
"With all due respect- that sounds-... Well-"
King: "Not normal? It isn't. but it’s the only way besides being born a Half-being to be a half-being."
I close my eyes and focus on as many animals as I can. A bright light shined above me, lighting up the pillars and floor. I continued until I heard Alex call out.
Alex: “Alright! That’s good enough! Now walk forward slightly."
I slowly walk forward, keeping my eyes closed. After a few long minutes, the light in the room faded.
Alex: 'You can open your eyes now,"
I open my eyes and turn around- seeing a crystal necklace floating where I was standing. It had different charms and gems, but the most notable was the moon crescent that was the centerpiece of the entire necklace. It slowly floated over to me and I looked back at the royal family.
Queen: "Well- Go ahead, put it on."
I turned back to the necklace and slowly grabbed it, I slowly put it on and looked around one last time before turning back and looking at Alex.
Alex: "I know what you're thinking- but Patience. The magic doesn't happen overnight. The more you wear the necklace, the more quickly the magic will take effect. and after enough time has passed, the magic will become a part of you."
"Then-"
Alex: "You'll be a half-being."
"Alright.... is there- any way to tell what animal was picked for me-?"
Alex: "Not right now, we'll come back in a month and check on that."
I nod and they start leaving. After a few minutes, I followed them back to the palace.
