Friend or Foe
I talked with Faith for probably a few hours before she had to leave. She walked over to me and hugged me
Faith: "I have to go now- but I always have my patrols cutting through here every other night, so feel free to come out and say hi if you want."
I smile and hug her back.
"Alright, Bye Faith,"
Faith: "Bye, Lyra."
With that, she turned and left. Leaving me and Emerald alone. Emerald looked up at me, and just by looking at her I could tell she was about to fall asleep-
"Are you tired?-"
I say while smiling and trying not to laugh. She leans against me and I sigh, picking her up and walking back inside. I laid her down at the foot of my bed and then laid down next to her. After only a few minutes we both fell asleep. The next morning, I got up and got ready. Meeting Clover out on the fields to start my training. Every day has been different so far- My test is in 5 days and I've been training nonstop with Clover and some other trainers. I'm glad Clover is willing to help me- honestly by now I'd be dead if it weren't for her training me.
' ~ + Time Skip; 4 days. + ~ '
Today Clover had me fight almost all of the guards at once. Since tomorrow is my test, she wants to see how well I do with fighting off groups of attackers. We started with 2, then 3, then 4, then 5- up to 7. I was able to fight off most of them, but one of the other trainers, Autumn, who had Golden-amber-red-brown feathers and hazel eyes- managed to get behind me and knocked me to the ground. I dropped my sword and she kicked it away, holding her sword to my neck. I try to move but she's holding me down- and gosh Griffins are so much heavier than cute small wolf pups- I heard Clover start to count down- Which means I had 5 seconds to get out of this mess or else I'll lose- I look around and see my sword not far away. I try crawling towards it but Autumn's a lot stronger than I am- but- then suddenly she's- gone-? I quickly got up and ran towards my sword- I picked it up and turned around ready for anyone who was ready to attack- but they were all distracted- I looked up where they were looking and saw that Autumn was- floating- she was upside down and floating- in the sky- A light trail of what looked like magic trailing from her to-.... Me-.... Or- my hand rather- everyone looks over to me confused. And I don't blame them. I'm just as confused as they are- I look up at autumn. I stretch my hand outwards and slowly bring it down, which brings her down to the ground. Once she was just a foot off the ground I gently snapped my fingers and the trail of magic that was making her float disappeared. Autumn looked at me then walked over to me- and Clover also walked over to me.
"What- what just happened-?? What was that-..."
Autumn: "That was your magic- Something must have triggered it, most likely the fight."
Clover: "It's uncommon for someone here to have levitation magic. Impressive- But, your magic shouldn't have been triggered until after or during you're test- "
"...How- do I control it-?"
Clover: "River and Kendi will help you with that"
"Kendi-?"
Clover: "She's another one of our trainers, but unlike me, she trains others with magic, not weapons."
Autumn: "And River will mostly be there to supervise since Kendi can-... well to put it bluntly. She gets distracted easily and has a hard time staying focused- "
Clover: "You'll find her in the forest- she mainly spends her time climbing trees so It shouldn't be hard to find her"
"Even though I have no idea what she looks like?"
Clover: "You'll be fine!"
Autumn: "Just don't say anything about her height- She will beat you into the sun if you do- "
"Noted-..."
Clover: "Anyways, Me and Autumn have to go now. We have another class to teach. We'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright- Bye..."
Autumn and Clover: "Bye."
I watched as they walked off then looked over at Emerald who was waiting impatiently for me to finish training.
Emerald: "Bark!"
"It's not my fault training takes so long!"
Emerald: "Bark!!"
"Whatever- Let's just go find-... Kendi... apparently- "
We walk towards the forest and I'm completely lost- Emerald looks up at me then goes down a random path. "Well- you seem to know where you're going-" I follow her down a steep and narrow path- there are so many trees and bushes- It's like no one wants you to go this way. We continue down the extremely overgrown path until finally, we come to a clearing. I look around in awe. There are so many animals! Griffins, foxes, wolves, dogs, cats, coyotes, eagles, peacocks, Kitsune foxes, lions, leopards, rabbits, deer, sparrows and so many more- all around this Giant redwood tree, talking it seemed- some animals that didn't have wings were either just on the ground or jumping from tree branch to tree branch- All of the branches on the redwood tree seemed to lead up to the top. There was also a net of magic around the base in case anyone fell. I followed Emerald to the base of the tree. She jumped up to the first branch and gestured for me to follow. I took a deep breath and climbed up onto the branch- she went ahead, looking back every few minutes to see where I was- We climbed up higher and higher. The closer we got to the top, the higher we got- I had been on top of trees before- but this was way taller than the trees back in the valley I lived in Redwood trees are about 300 - 350 feet tall- It took us probably about 3 or so hours just to get halfway up- that was mainly done to me slipping and almost falling every few minutes. When we got halfway up there was a small door- Emerald pushed it open and it led to the inside of the tree, which had a staircase going the rest of the way up. I followed Emerald up the staircase. When we got to the top it was amazing... The top of the tree was hollowed out and there was a balcony going all the way around the -??-. And the view was just incredible. You could see for miles and miles- wow- Arramia was a lot larger than I originally thought- It seems to go on forever and ever... To the South (I think) I can see the Ocean and to the west just more forest, beyond that looks like some sort of desert. South East there's the village and the Palace. And more East are some large mountains that I can just barely see the outline of. Even further to the east, beyond the palace, I can just barely see what looks like a jungle- and beyond that into the north looks like some snow-?.... The mountains are in the way so it's hard to tell. I looked at Emerald and she wags her tail, walking out onto the balcony and now I could see a lot more clearly. Everything was how I thought and where it was- only now I could see that the Ocean was a lot larger and far off into the distance there were what looked to be storm clouds. I looked back at the large mountains and clouds were surrounding the mountain peaks. The view is just so beautiful-. Emerald paws at my arm to get my attention and I look at her. She walked back to where the staircase was. There was a wall of vines leading further up Emerald jumped up and grabbed onto one of the vines with her mouth and it slowly brought her up, which I wasn't really surprised about since magic seemed to be a big thing here. I grabbed onto a vine and it started pulling me up as well. We got to the top which seemed to be some sort of living space- mainly filled with different herbs and potions. I looked around not seeing anyone. Emerald however- was looking up at the ceiling and barked- suddenly there was a surprised 'Mreow-! ' and a cat was hanging upside down with a vine wrapped around her foot- She looked at us and blinked. "Uhm-... Hi- "
