Fight

The next week was absolute torture. Crystal kept beating me over and over again. Clover tried her best to help, but it was no use.

{Why am I even here... at this rate I'll never get home...}

I think to myself. I'm so lost in my thoughts I don't realize Emerald sitting right next to me. I only notice when she licks my hand- making me jump. I look at her and then calm down.

"Hey, Emerald-..."

"Bark!"

I sigh and pet her, then look at a rope on the top shelf above my bed. I grab it then look at her and smile.

"Wanna play tug of war?"

"Bark!"

"Alright, then come on before the others wake up!"

She chases me outside and bites onto one end of the rope while I hold the other end of the rope tightly in my hands- She immediately yanks on the rope, pulling me forward and onto the ground.

"Hey! No fair! I didn't say go yet!"

She runs over to me and licks my nose and I laugh.

"Alright- Alright, you big fluff ball- Anything is fair game I guess-"

"Bark!"

She went into a playful stance and I knew exactly what she was doing-

"You want me to chase you? - You have four legs! I have Two! It's 6 AM!"

"Bark!"

She barks a few times, spinning in a circle and going back to the play stance- It's honestly adorable how playful she is-

"Alright- fine- but don't you dare drag me across the Sunlight Fields again!"

She barks and turns. Running off. I sigh and smile, then start chasing after her. We played that game of tag for about 2 hours- and I ended up losing-... Oh well, maybe next time. We start walking back to the Training fields, Where Clover is waiting for us-

Clover: "I see you guys decided to play chase for two hours?"

I put my hands up defensively and pointed to Emerald.

"It was her Idea!"

"*Angry Bark*"

"Hush it. you pinned the blame on me last time-"

"Bark."

I sigh and go to get cleaned up and ready for the day. Then come back out to where Clover has set up more targets.

"What are they for?"

Clover: "Training, And I'll be your new Opponent."

"Ok-..."

Clover: "Don't worry- I'll go easy on you, we’ll start slow and each fight will progressively get more challenging."

I nod and pretty soon we start. I run towards her, swinging my sword and she dodges, jumping to the side. I quickly spin around and manage to knock her to the ground. She rolls away and quickly stands up, doing some sort of what looks like half of a dance to get behind me and knock me to the ground. I stare at her and she has her stone sword pointed at me.

Clover: 'Not bad, you were able to get a hit in, now let’s continue."

I nod and stand up. She starts walking towards me and then starts running. I see which direction she's going to swing her sword and turn the opposite way, just barely missing it. I managed to dodge her attacks a few more times but she managed to knock me to the ground when my sword got stuck in its sheath- I looked at her and she smiled.

Clover: "Very good! You're doing a great job so far."

Crystal: "Oh please."

We look over at Crystal who is leaning against a weapons rack.

Crystal: "All she did was dodge your level 2 attacks. Anyone could."

Clover: "You and I both know I could disarm you in less than a minute. So, shut your mouth and stop crushing her confidence."

Crystal: "Oh really? Miss Healer Wolf thinks she can disarm me?"

Clover: "Need I remind you I fought for the king and queen long before you ever even joined? Not to mention I was their best Guard and fighter before I went to be a training instructor?"

Crystal: "Well if you're that good, why don't you just attack me yourself? Then we'll see who is better!"

Clover: "Is that a Challenge, Threat, or Compliment? Because either way You'll lose."

Crystal scoffs and unsheathes her sword.

Crystal: "Very well then. Go ahead! I've got all day."

Clover slowly walks towards Crystal and unsheathes her sword which is an almost white pale color, the handle being imbedded with gems and silver engravings. She started running towards Crystal and they started attacking each other. Dodging, Attacking, defending, and repeat- this went on for what felt like an hour but it was only 30 seconds- Suddenly Clover grabbed Crystal's arm and through her to the ground

(Literally- She Literally Through her on the ground-), Causing Crystal to drop her sword, which Clover instantly kicked up and into her other hand. She pointed both swords at Crystal.

Clover: "I told you so, didn't I?"

Crystal looked at her in disbelief. Glaring at her.

Clover: "Hey."

Crystal didn't say anything and just looked at her questioningly.

Clover: "Stand up soldier. Just because you lost the fight, doesn’t mean you lost the war."

Clover handed Crystal her sword and helped her up. Crystal sheathed her sword and turned away.

Crystal: "Good job."

Then she turned and walked off.
