Test
The next morning, I woke up early and got ready. I walked outside but I didn’t go to the training grounds- Instead, I walked to a different field where the Arena was. Where most of the fights and tests took place. I saw Clover and River already waiting for me.
Clover: “There you are! Are you excited?”
“I’m stressed?”
Clover: “Don’t be You’ll do fine!”
“Are you sure I’m ready?-“
Clover: “Lyra, I wouldn’t have told the King and Queen personally that you’re ready if you weren’t ready.”
River: “You’ve been training hard since you first arrived. And like I promised. The sooner we can get rid of- whatever’s attacking the village. The sooner we can get you home.”
I nod.
“Alright…”
Clover walked over to a weapons rack and grabbed an ax. Then walked back over to me and handed it to me.
Clover: “I know- you’re more of a swords girl- but all the stone swords are either broken or being used...”
“It’s fine- Thank you, Clover.”
Clover: “You’re welcome-... Oh- Your test is about to start in... 15 minutes- We’ll be in the front row with the healers and guards.”
I nod and they walk away. I sigh and start walking into the arena- Well, before Emerald barked and got my attention. I turned and looked at her. She runs up to me and jumps up, licking my face. I smile.
“I wish you could help…”
Her ears go down slightly but then go back up as she makes me laugh by licking my nose.
“Wish me luck…”
“Bark!”
She jumped down and walked off to where River and Clover went. I sighed and slowly walked into the Arena- Which was- A LOT- Bigger than what I originally thought- I walked around seeing Crystal, Kendi, Luna, and a few others. Luna and Kendi ran up to me when they saw me and hugged me.
Luna: “I’m so happy! And a little scared for you- But I know you’ll do great!”
Kendi: “You’ll do fine.”
I smile.
“Thank you both- “
?: “Hey! What about us?”
I turned and looked to where the voice came from- It was Alex.
Hunter: “You haven’t forgotten about us already have you?”
Void: “She better not have.”
I ran over to them and hugged them.
“Sorry- No- I promise I didn’t forget you guys.”
Void tried to pull away but eventually just gave up.
Alex: “I would be front row like everyone else but my parents are making me sit with them so- “
“That’s alright- I’m glad you guys even decided to come- “
Luna: “Why wouldn’t we?”
“I mean- we only met like 2 days ago-“
Luna: “And for me, that’s enough for you to become one of my best friends!”
