Sister
It wasn't until after I had gotten back to the sleeping house and laid down on my bed with Emerald that I realized something.
{How did the Queen know I always rush into battles? . . . Clover doesn't send letters and if she did she would have told me- no windows in the throne room overlook the training fields- and all of the royal’s bedrooms are on the other side of the palace-....}
I sat there. thinking to myself silently. Emerald looked at me, and as if she could read my mind, she sat up and pointed out of the window next to my bed, to what looked like-... someone... looking straight back at me-... I stare back at them and they start walking closer. I was about to grab my sword when Emerald stopped me. She shook her head and jumped down onto the floor, gesturing for me to follow. I slowly stood up and followed her outside. When we got to just outside of where my window was I could see them still standing there. Unfortunately, they had a cloak and hood on, so I couldn't see their face or what animal they were. Emerald stepped forward and barked a few times, then after a few minutes the strange being started walking closer and stopped just a few feet away from us. They slowly took off their hood and I about fell backward- the strange 'person' was another Half-being. Long brown hair, dark blue eyes, Deer ears, and a deer tail- She looked up at me and smiled.
"Grace? -......"
Faith: "Actually, it's Faith now-... but yeah-..."
"You changed your name? - W-wait- How- How are you here-?!"
Faith: "For one of the same reasons you did, although the King and Queen insisted on changing my name since it didn't 'Fit' me well enough-... I was never caught in the fire back home, I had gotten lost in the mountains a few days before."
"That’s-... That's why you didn't ring the bell- Because you always ring the bell-"
Faith: "When there’s an emergency or danger? I know- I'm just sorry I wasn't there.... maybe if I was the fire wouldn't have killed everyone... and we wouldn't be here."
"What-? No- it's not your fault! What happened was an accident and should have never happened. But that doesn't mean it was your fault."
Faith looked at me and slightly smiled.
"...hey what’s with-..."
Faith: "The ears and tail?"
She smiled.
Faith: "Well, the same day I went missing, I found the pool that leads to Arramia."
“...Pool-?"
Faith: "Yeah! You know, how you got here-? Through the giant cavern-?"
"...I- That's not how I got here-"
Faith: "What do you mean-? That’s the only way to get into Arramia without Key."
"I mean- That is not how I got here-"
Faith: "Didn't Emerald lead you through the tunnels to the enchanted springs?"
"No!- She ran up the mountain, and I followed her because how was I supposed to know she was a magical wolf- we fell asleep and suddenly all the colors had changed- then she led me to the cave- she led me to an underwater tree then we took even more tunnels because we were being chased by underwater serpents/ sea snakes- Then we ended up in the ocean and I could no longer breathe underwater so she dragged me to the surface and land- and then the patrol found us-"
She stared at me very confused.
Faith: "Ly-...... That's- that's not right-... There's only one way to get here from our world without a key and it’s not by sleeping-..."
I stare at her silently for a few minutes then look at Emerald who shrugs.
"...Wait- what do you mean get in without a Key-?"
Faith: "Oh- Right- There are four gates in every Corner of Arramia. The one closest to the valley and forest is the main gate everyone uses. Only a select few animals have a key for the gates that lets them come and go as they please. Everyone else- is stuck here-"
"...ok..."
