Last night during my shift Miles decided to stay up with me as we went through how we was going to approach his dad. It didn't last long until we both got bored and played our own version of darts.

We used my knives and made a bullseye in the middle of the room we were in. It was easier to keep a look out plus neither of us wanted to go all the way downstairs. It was a good way to pass the time until we woke Gunner up for his shift and decided to go back to sleep.

Which brings me to now where
I woke up to a harsh shove causing me to tumble out of bed. "Really Vera I woke you up five minutes ago we are all ready to leave we are waiting on you" Evelyn says

I open my eyes thinking she's kidding but when I remember she did wake me up I bolt out of bed and start chucking on my boots. She huffs before walking out and slamming the door.

I hop along out the door as I put my last boot on. I'm about to open the front door when I remember my knives from last nights dart game. I groan as I rush back upstairs.

"Really I came all the way up here for nothing!" I whine as I see that my knives aren't lodged into the wall like they were last time I saw them. Miles must've grabbed them. I turn back around and halt.

I swear I never closed that door. I past over to the window and move the curtain slightly to look outside. Did one of them come back into the house? I would've heard them.

Then just like that the morning seemed to turn into a bite of frost and the air made my lungs feel chilled just to breath it in. Gunner, Daniel, Evelyn and Miles were shoved onto their knees, having been dragged out into the middle of the towns road with their hands tied behind their backs.

I'm a fool for forgetting what kept me up last night. I stifled an overpowering sense of fear. That old bastard will be fuming and by the look on Popes face I had read correctly.

I paused for a moment and bent low, examining the scene in front of me. The excitement in Popes eyes will be one that would always haunt me. That and how I was the reason why they're lives are now at risk.

In that suspended moment my heart stopped beating, the strong early light shining strongly from the barrel of the revolver he throws around careless of the damage it would cause if it went off.

I have nothing no knives no bag they must've been waiting on me for a bit to take my stuff with them. I watch from the window and observe the men looking for a particular man. I sigh not catching sight of my dad not that helps my situation. I actually think I'm at a bigger disadvantage that he isn't.

"Shut up !" his raw voice brutal against my ear. I flinch as I watch Pope smack the butt of the gun against Gunners head causing his body to drop instantly.

Miles struggled against his restraints. I don't know what to do or how to help. I watch as Pope whispers something to someone who pulls out a walkie talkie and immediately starts speaking into it.

As I'm looking out the window I see the door behind me slowly creak open from the reflection. I whip around and stand up as the person confidently strolls in. They probably know I have nothing to defend myself with.

"I warned you but you didn't listen" that same silky deep voice breaks the silence. I frown shooting him daggers. I search his hands to see he's not holding any weapons which is his mistake.

"Yet hear we are..." I spit out as I want all these people who are threatening the lives of my family dead. He shuffles closer leaving the door agar and I'm confused why he's the only one in here.

"You can't get away I know you know that so it's easier if you just come with me" his voice is calm and steady but my body shakes with anger as I continue to hear Pope making threats and the whimpering of my sister just outside a glass window.
