"Evelyn keep up!" I yell back at her. I don't understand it's not hard we aren't even walking that fast. She just keeps drifting off and out of sight. She shows back up when I yell at her.

"Lay off her a bit she's probably just thinking she's just like you but younger plus it's been a rough couple days." Miles ruffles my hair. After the incident a few days ago I do keep drifting into my own world. Ignoring people who call my name or bumping into things.

"She's not like me actually. You and Daniel are more alike than we would ever be" I laugh because them two are hard to separate now since they have gotten closer. Fighting at first now just teasing each other.

"Actually he's quite the opposite of me" I'm sure he is. I know Miles well and I can tell what that look in his eyes means. I'm just waiting for his confession. The two can't fool me with their act. I see through it.

"Miles what was that saying something about opposites attract could you remind me?" I smirk as his face burns slightly. He doesn't dare look at me as he knows I'll know if he does. Instead he just huffs crossing his arms.

"Honey you need reminding on how to stay out of my business" I snake my arm around his waist and lean in. I haven't had him this close in a while. The way he tightens his grip makes me feel comforted.

"I miss this. A lots been going on I haven't checked in on you." I'm talking about before I came back home. When I'd sneak to his for dinner with his dad and we'd just have fun. That's what I miss.

"Me too" I take a deep breath in and close my eyes just letting Miles lead me where to walk. His arm was warm and relaxing. This is what I needed just to catch up to myself for a second.

"Miles come look it's you" Daniel calls making my eyes flutter open. He's pointing to a picture of a chicken on the shop widow. We've made it in the city. It's all about progress.

He looks down at me as he can see that I was enjoying this moment but I can see in his eyes the desire to go to Daniel. "Go I'll book an appointment with you later" he smiles as I used to say that when I had to leave his house.

"Are you sure? Daniel can wait. You're my number one visitor." he checks but Daniel is looking like he's going to call him again so I pull my arm away and nod. He looks unsure but smiles and starts to walk towards him.

Their laughter immediately follows. I look back and check on Evelyn who is walking side by side with Draven. She looks pissed actually I've never seen her that close to Draven. Draven just has a neutral look as if she isn't shouting at him.

Well she's not shouting because I can't hear what she's saying but I can tell she's annoyed. What is she telling Draven though? I slow my pace and keep looking forward so it's not obvious that I'm listening.

"You don't know anything about us!" She whisper yells and I'm already intrigued. Why is she mad at him? What's he done now. He best have not upset her.

"Yet I would know that she would strongly disagree" his calm voice seems to fuel her anger. The city around me seems like a stranger. Like a ghost that I'm just walking straight through. I'd pay more attention if I wasn't listening to these two

"Don't try that with me! I can see through you!" really what had happened no way did I miss this. They seemed fine I mean they don't know each other but there was never a problem.

"Poisonous game like chess makes those being used think they're playing. You sure you can see through that?" His warning to her was alarming but why was there a need for this at all?
