"You jerk! You scared the crap out of me!" I punch Draven as he finally lets go of me. Seriously what was he thinking? He watches me curiously amused at the fact he caught me off guard.
"What took you so long?" He ignores me as I move away from him and back to my original destination. He grabs the side of my arm so that I'm turned to face him.
"They went for a walk I was just seeing them off" he nods to my response so we both finally head back to the front door. I open it without knocking expecting the other three to be here but they're not.
"Did you see where the others went?" I ask a bit worried where they would have gone at this time of night. Draven makes his way into the kitchen where he grabs some water.
"Something about fireflies" he responds they must have gone to the same place Evelyn was talking about. I take my jumper off as it's much warmer in here.
I sit on the couch where Draven shortly follows. "I know dinner wasn't what you had in mind but I have a good feeling that something clicked for him" he lays his head on top of my legs as he relaxes
"He just needs someone to blame" how he says it like it doesn't bother him will always amaze me but knowing him like I do just staring at him for a few extra seconds i can see the crease between his eyebrows that show his stress.
I hold onto his hand "Im sorry it's so complicated between the two of you and the other few that give you a rough time doesn't help. I'm gonna speak to them and tell them to back off" I squeeze his hand and his small smirk is satisfying
"Don't apologise i find humour in how hard they try" I smack his hand and he chuckles deeply. His eyes close but he didn't seem like it was to fall asleep. I lift up his shirt slightly which exposed his relaxed muscles.
I trace the scar he has and rub his belly at the same time. For some reason it was soothing. His chest in a soft pattern and his breathing slow. I look back at his face where his eyes remained shut and his face neutral.
I bring my hand up and slowly move his hair so it's not tickling his face. I rest my hand on the side of his face tracing over his nose and lips. I didn't think he was asleep but I can't tell right now as he seems so at peace.
I lean over and leave a soft kiss on his lips. Moments like this I will cherish. Seeing him without a frown on his face or at the end of a gun. Just where he can finally fall in a daze where he can allow his eyes to be closed without a worry.
It couldn't have been more than half an hour when I heard the door open and close. I must have dozed off. Me being on top of Dravens chest with a blanket over the two of us confirms I did fall asleep at one point.
"It's just the others" his hoarse voice says but I could already tell from the laughter and noise they're making. I sit up so I'm inbetween Dravens legs but he's still laying down. He peeps his eyes open not impressed by the choice.
I rub my eyes just as the group of five walk in. "I can't believe you didn't know they glow" my sister says to Daniel who just shrugs probably annoyed at the comment.
"I'm still shocked at how many there were it was so romantic" Miles adds as they all make their way in finding a spot to sit somewhere. No one questions us as we are still trying to wake up. Only ash smiles at me and Dravens position.
I poke Draven "want some water?" He doesn't reply but instead gets up and goes off into the kitchen.
Miles is quick to take Dravens space as he almost sits on me ruffling my hair.
