Simply beautiful

Chapter nine:

Aaliyah's pov:

We watch as Lando gets out of the car and takes his helmet off. He speaks to his engineer quickly and then starts walking towards us. "Hey" Lando says while giving us a small smile. "Hey, how are you?" I ask. Lando looks and me and says "I am good thx, just a little disappointed with the results." He also adds "The car is better on medium compound tyres rather then softs."

"You shouldn't be disappointed. You got into sq3 you should be proud of yourself." I say with a smile. "well at least we are better then last year" Lando jokes. I laugh whilst shaking my head. We talk for a little while before Lando says "Well i better go for the interviews and then we have a team debrief so i will speak to you later." "Ok well we should probably get going anyway because by the time we get back it will nearly be Mattheo's bedtime." I say.

"Well I will see you tomorrow then" Lando says. I nod "Yh maybe." I turn towards Mattheo and see he is talking to one of the engineers. "Mattheo, its time for us to be heading home." he turns to look at me "i don't want to go yet." he says with a frown on his face. "I know baby but it will nearly be your bedtime when we get home. "I state. He starts walking really slowly to me with a frown on his face. Before I can say something I hear Lando say "Don't be sad buddy, you will be here tomorrow."

"Will i see you tomorrow?" Mattheo asks with hope in his eyes. "Of course you will, we are friends aren't we?" Lando questions. "We are best friends!" Mattheo shouts while running up to Lando.

Lando pick Mattheo up and gives him a hug. "I will see you tomorrow. behave for your mom." Lando says. "ok I will be good!" Theo says with a big smile. Lando places him back onto the floor and then looks at me. "goodnight Liyah" "goodnight Lan" we both say. Lando leans in for a hug. i wrap my arms around him and then rest my head on his chest. Me and Lando have known each other for less then 24 hours but for some reason i feel comfortable around him. More comfortable then with some of my friends i have know for years. We stay like this for a while before we both pull away.

"Say bye to everyone" i say to Mattheo. He says goodbye to everyone and then gives them a little wave. I reach for his hand and then we start exiting the garage. Once we were out of the garage we start walking in the direction of the car park. I see the queue to get out and I already know we are going to be here for a while.

After 45 minutes of waiting to exit the car park we are finally on our way home. I look in my centre mirror and see Mattheo fast asleep in his car seat. I knew he was tired but he didn't want to miss any of the action to have a nap. Another 30 minutes later and we are back to our apartment. I gently get Theo out of his car seat and then carefully walk him up the stairs to our apartment trying no to accidentally wake him on the way up. Once we are inside i immediately start walking towards his room so I can put him to bed, I lay him down, tuck him in and i give him a kiss on the forehead.
