Chapter twenty two:

Aaliyah Pov:

After the amazing podium and the huge celebration, Lando had to go and do more interviews. I knew he would have to. I mean it's his first race win after all. I hear my notification tone on my phone. I quickly get my phone out of my bad and the look at who has messaged me. It's lando.

Lan🧡: you can go to my drivers room if you want to get away from people. I hopefully will be finished soon.

Aaliyah: Thankyou. Take your time there is no need to rush.

Lan🧡: I know but I want to spend time with you and Mattheo.

Aaliyah: ok just do your job first. You can probably find us in ur drivers room

Lan🧡: ok i gtg i will see you later

Aaliyah: have fun x

"Mattheo, do you want to go to Lando's drivers room whilst we wait for him to finish his interview ?" I ask. "Yes please mamma" he says. "Ok then. Remember to hold my hand whilst we push through the crowd" I say. He nods in response and the reaches for my hand. I take his hand in mine and then walk my way back towards the driver room. Just before we get there, we get stopped by someone shouting my name. I turn around and see Martin Brundle.

"Hey Aaliyah can I speak to you for a moment" he asks and the puts a mic in front of my face. "Hey Martin how are you? Yh of course" I reply whilst taking the mic that he offered. I don't really want to do this but I also don't want to be mean. I just want to get out of the crowds and relax for a little."I am very well thankyou for asking. How do you feel about Lando's win?" He asks. I smile "I feel amazing. I really believe he deserved this. He is such an amazing driver. He has been so close to a win multiple times so I am just glad it finally happened and he got what he deserved. The car was great, I believe the upgrades are really good,If you look at what the results were from last year they are completely different to now. Good different."I reply. Martin nods and the looks down at Mattheo. "What has been the best thing that happened this weekend?" Martin asks. Instantly Mattheo replies "I can't choose one! There is Lando's win, movie night with Lando, sitting in the car and Lando becoming my best friend." He has a huge smile on his face as he looks at Martin. "Wow it seams like an interesting weekend for you. One last question Aaliyah, what got you into the motorsport industry?" He asks me. "My dad got me into motorsports. It used to be the only thing we watched on the weekends. At first I didn't quite like it but when I actually payed attention to what was happening, I really enjoyed it. Motorsports is full of passion from all sides.Whilst there are rivalries, there's also respect between the drivers, teams and the fans. You learn to expect the unexpected on a race weekend, which makes it intriguing and exciting. motorsport provides a challenge unlike many other sports. It involves so many hours of planning, testing and building the vehicles.At The adrenaline you get from watching high speed races and watching the car reach over 210mph on certain circuits offers excitement. The combination of skillful driving, fierce competition, and the raw speed of the cars creates a thrilling spectacle for fans." I say.

"Thankyou for talking to me Aaliyah. Have a great rest of your day" he says.
I hand over the mic and then turn around to walk the other direction so I can go to the drivers room. When I turn around all I see is a papaya coloured team shirt. I look up and smile brightly. It's Lando.Lando pulls me into a hug, He rests his head on my shoulder and lets out a sigh of relief.I wrap my free arm around him and then start to comb my fingers through his hair. "Hey, you ok?" I ask. He nods "Yh I am great, just bored and tired of the interviews. I have another one in a few minutes." He replies. "You will be finished in no time. Once you have done that you can go celebrate with ur friends." I say. Before he can say anything a McLaren team member came up to us. "Lando, sorry to bother you but u have more interviews to finish" the team member said. "I will come and see you later once I have finished" he says as he pulls away. "Ok have fun" I reply. "Bye lando!" Mattheo said. "Bye buddy" Lando replies with a smile on his face. Lando then turns around and walks away.
