Chapter twelve:

Aaliyah's Pov:

As we are eating breakfast, the question doesn't get brought up again surprisingly. The only thing that is discussed are our sprint race and qualifying predictions.

"I hope lando comes first in the sprint race, Oscar second and then Charles!" Mattheo says. He looks at me and says "What are your predictions for the sprint"he tries to say predictions but it didn't sound like that. I knew what he meant so I reply with "That's a very good question Mattheo. My predictions are Lando p1, max p2 and Charles p3."
"Ooo that's a good answer mamma!" Mattheo says after he finishes the last bit of his food. "What are your Lando?" I ask. Lando sits there and thinks for a few seconds before replying "I think max will come first, he has won most of the races from last year and this year so I believe he will add Miami onto his list of sprint wins. Second I would say Carlos, he car has been strong recently and then either Charles or Perez. It's a hard choice between them.I would love to be on the podium for a sprint race but I am still getting used to the car after the huge upgrades."

" have some faith Lando. We believe in you!" Mattheo says. Lando smiles at him and then replies with "Thankyou buddy. I really appreciate that."

"Ok what about the qualifying. Do you think the car will be good around this track?" Mattheo asks Lando. "I believe we have a high chance of being in the top ten, like I said the new car upgrades make us quicker,Like we saw in sprint qualifying so Yh I believe we will be good. The Miami track mainly have medium or high speed corners which is our strong point" He replies.

"I think the Ferraris, redbulls and the mclarens will be in the top 5. I just don't know what order" I add. "I believe that you have a chance to improve at this circuit. Like you said before there are major upgrades to the car. So it might preform better around this track. And it might preform better in low speed corners. Miami hasn't been McLaren's best track in the last 2 years however I believe that will change this weekend. Not only has the car improved but so have you. You skills have developed so much over the last few years so I truly believe you will be great."

"Thankyou for having faith in me. It means a lot" he says with a smile on his face.

Marie, the waiter, returns to the table and takes our plates away. We thank her and ask if we could have the bill. She smiles and says "of course. I will just take there's plates away and then I will be right back with the bill" as she walks away. Once she has took the plates she comes back to us and gives it to us. I grab my bag and then open it so I can get my purse. " Here you go" I hear. I look up and see Lando handing his card to the waiter. Before I could protest she walks away so she could complete the payment. I look at Lando and give him a look. The same look I give Mattheo if he isn't listening to me.( which is very rare I do that because he is an extremely well behaved kid.)

"Why would you do that. I was going to pay for it." I say to him. "I invited you out so I thought I should pay." He replies. "You didn't have to pay." I stop mid sentence and then reach into my purse and pull out a $20 bill and then reach towards lando to give it to him. "Here take this to at least cover mine and Mattheo's breakfasts." He shakes his head and pushes my hand away. "I don't want your money, it was my treat." He says.

"Ok but I will pay next time. So I can technically pay you back" I reply. "Ok fine, you will pay next time" he says with a small smirk on his face.

"What is that smirk for?" I ask. "Oh nothing really. You just said next time. Which means we will be doing this again." He responds. "Omg I'm so sorry I didn't really think before I spoke. If you don't want to hang out after today I totally understand. Obviously you don't want to hang out after this, you a busy and famous person who travels all over the world.I shouldn't have just assumed that we would be doing this again. I'm sorry."

"No you don't need to say sorry. We are obviously doing this again, it was really fun to get to know you and Mattheo better. And yes I do travel a lot but I do have breaks which mean I could come and see you guys then. Remember I am Mattheo's best friends, I can always find time for him and you in my busy schedule." Lando says and he reaches over and holds my hand in a comforting way.

Marie comes back to the table and hands Lando's card to him and wishes us a great day. I gather all of my belonging and then stand up . I put my bag on my shoulder and the began to tidy up the crayons Mattheo had. I place them back in the pack and then I grab he drawing. "Baby do you want to keep this" I say as I held up his artwork.  He nods and then responds with "yes please mamma." "Ok baby" I say and then I reach to help Mattheo out of his seat. I hold my hand out, which he happily grabs and then I support him as he gets off the seat. Once he is on the floor, I step back to allow lando to get out of the booth too.

We then walk towards the door that leads to the car park. We say thankyou to Marie one more time and then proceed to the exit. As we reach the door, Lando held the door open for us. I mumble a quick thankyou and then exit the cafe.
