Chapter thirty five:

Aaliyahs pov:

We have just arrived back at my parents house. I can tell lando is a little nervous to meet them because he keeps fidgeting. "You don't have to be nervous lan, they will love you" I say trying to reassure him. He looks up at me and gives me a small smile. I get out the car, walk round to the passenger side and get Mattheo out of his car seat. Once I shut all the door and locked the car, we all walk to the front door and I open it. "Mom,dad we are back" I shout. "We are in the living room kiddo" I hear my dad reply. Mattheo walks
into the living room whilst I turn around to look at lando. He is already looking at me. I give him another reassuring smile and the hold my hand out. He grabs my hand and laces out fingers together as we began to walk into the living room. "Hello lando how are you" my mom says as she stand up and walks over towards us. As soon as my mom is close enough she pulls him in for a hug. Lando seems shocked for a seconds because he freezes. "Hello ma'am I am good thankyou how are you?" Lando says as he wraps his free arm around my mother. "Please call me Maria, ma'am makes me feel old. And I am very well thankyou for asking." My mom says as she pulls away from the hug. "Nice to meet you Lando my name is Dan" my dad says as he hold his hand out. "Nice to meet you too" Lando replies whilst also holding his hand out so they can shake hands.

All the nerves that Lando have seemed to disappear after meeting my parents. For the past 20 minutes they have all been talking about random things. "So how did you get into formula one?" My dad ask lando. "Before I even thought of single seaters, I tried horse riding, then quad biking and motorbike riding before I decided to move on to karting after my father took me to watch the national British Karting Championships when I was seven. Once I got good and I was more confident  I entered a championship and i got the victory at the direct-drive Karting World Championship in 2014. I then went and won the MSA Formula Championship in 2015, and the Toyota Racing Series, Eurocup Formula Renault l and Formula Renault Northern European Cup in 2016. I also received the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award that year. In 2017, i won the European Formula 3 Championship alongside a role as a Test and Simulator Driver for the McLaren Honda Formula 1 team. Following my success in F3, i was promoted to Test and Reserve Driver in 2018 and made my debut in F2 with Carlin Racing. My F2 season got off to a great start when i won the opening feature race in Bahrain, and after that, i was always fighting for the race win and also fighting for the title with George Russell and Alex Albon.
it was then announced that i would partner Carlos Sainz at McLaren formula one team in 2019 for my rookie season. I have been at McLaren since 2919 and last weekend I finally got my first f1 victory" Lando says. "Wow and you did all that before you turned 20" my mom said. "Yes I am very lucky my parents supported my dreams. I wouldn't be in formula one without them" Lando says. They continuen there talking for a little before Lando says, " I really should get going now, I have to go to work." He says as he gets up off the sofa. "It was nice meeting you Maria and Dan, enjoy the rest of the day and I hope to see you soon" Lando says. "I was lovely to meet you too, congratulations on your win" my mom says. Lando thanks my parents and then turns to me. "You ready Liyah" Lando says. I nod in response "Mattheo are you ready to go?" I say. Mattheo turns around "where are we going?" He asks confused. "We are going to Lando work. Remember when I mentioned it to you?" His face lit up as I said that. He quickly stands up, puts his toys away and then runs towards me and lando. "I am ready" he says excitedly. "Ok let's go" I say as I gather all my belongings and then walk to the car.

"Will we be able to stop and grab my car on the way there please" Lando asks me as soon as I got into the drivers seat. "Of course just put the address into maps and I will drive there" I say as  hand Lando over my phone. Once he typed the address in, he places my phone on the phone holder and the I began to drive.

It wasn't going to be a long journey because the maps say it is 25 minutes away. The car was filled with laughter all the way there. The only time it stopped was when I get told I have reached my destination and lando got out of the car so he could drive his car to the technology centre.
