I have just pulled up outside the cafe I used to work at. I turn the engine off, grab all my belongings, exit the car and then lock it. I am meeting ruby here for a catch up. As I enter the cafe, I am met with my old co worker james/ childhood best friend. "Aaliyah? Is that you?" He asks. "Hey James" I say with a smile on my face. "It's really you! I missed you Ali" he says as he pulls me into a hug. " I missed you too james."I reply as I return the hug. We stay like that for a few more seconds before we pull away from the hug. "I am about to go on my lunch break. Do you want to catch up for a little? I have so much to tell you!" He says. "Yh of course, I was meeting up with ruby but I think she is late" I reply. Me, ruby and James used to always hang out as a group. We used to eat together, visit different places together, share our feelings and emotions with each other, help each other if any of us were in trouble. We really were inseparable growing up.
We both order a coffee and a sweet treat,find a table and then sit down. "How are you? How's life?" I asks. "I am great. Life is good, a few months after you left I took a few months off work so I could travel the world for a little and then when I returned to the uk, l started working here full time. I am also currently doing an online university course so I can finally get my dream job. How about you?" He says. "Oh wow that sounds amazing. I'm so happy for you. I am great. I currently live in America, it is where I opened a garage and persuaded my dreams. I also have a son now, he is the best thing that has happened to me. His name is Mattheo and he is four years old" I say. James doesn't have any social media or anything like that so he doesn't know about Mattheo. James sits there in shock. "You have a son! Wow Ali that's so cool, you have changed so much since I saw you last. Have you got a picture of him" he replies. "Yh" I say as I reach in my bag and grab my phone. I unlock it and then go to my camera roll to find a recent picture of him. I chose the picture from when Mattheo, Lando and I were racing with toy cars. It's such a cute photo. Mattheo is looking at the camera with his pearly white teeth on show and his ocean blue eyes sparkle in the light whilst holding one of his many toy cars. I am also smiling brightly at the camera whilst lando is just looking at my and Mattheo with a small smile on his face. "Aww his is so adorable. Is that Mattheo's dad? Or is he your boyfriend?" James says. "Oh no his isn't Mattheo's dad or my boyfriend, we are just good friends" I reply shyly. "Oh sorry I assumed. It's just the way he is looking at you, I just thought there was something going on" he says. We continue our conversation for a little while until we hear the chimes of the door opening. I look back towards the door and see a familiar face enter. I quickly get up out of my seat and walk towards the person. As soon as I am close enough, they pull me into a tight hug. I quickly hug them back "omg you really here. I have missed you so much" she says. "I am sorry I was a gone so long, I missed you so much ruby" I say as I pull away from the hug. "Girl we have so much to catch up on" she says as we walk towards the table. When we reach it, she finally looks up and see James sitting there. "I have missed this. All of you hanging out together and having fun" ruby says and she quickly says hello to James, gives him a hug and then sits down in the empty seat.
Ruby tells me everything that has happened since I left. She is currently a secretary for a huge journalism company in London but she eventually wants to become an author. Ruby has also got an apartment with her new partner Xavier. They have been together for a year and are very happy together.
We have been sitting here talking for the past hour and half, james had to go about half an hour ago because he had to go back to work but whenever there was no one in the cafe, he sat back with us and continued telling us all the gossip. As we were talking I get an unexpected call from my mum. I excuse myself and then answer the phone.
"Hey mom, are you ok? Is Mattheo ok?" I ask worriedly. "Hey sweetie, I am fine. But Mattheo is crying because he misses you and he says he doesn't feel well. I have tried to calm him down but he just wants his mamma. I'm so sorry to disturb you" my mom says. "You shouldn't apologise, I will be home in 5 minutes, can I speak to Mattheo please" I respond. "Ok sure, Mattheo you mamma is on the phone" I hear my mom say to Mattheo "Mamma?" I hear my beautiful boy say. He sounds so sad. "Hello my love, I will be home in 5 minutes ok?" I say. "Ok mamma. I don't feel well. My head hurts and my belly hurts" he says whilst he sniffles. "When I get back I will give you some medicine and lots of belly rubs" I say. "Ok mamma please hurry I miss you" he says. "I will baby, I love you bye" I hear him say bye as I hang up the phone.
"I'm so sorry but I have to go, Mattheo is sick so I have to go and sort him out. I have loved catching up though, we should definitely do this soon. Maybe you guys could come to America and I can show you a few thing" I says as I quickly gather all my belonging. "It's ok girl, I hope his is ok. I would love to go to America" ruby says as she gives me a quick hug. "Go and look after your son. We will see you soon" James says. "Ok bye guys" I reply as they both say bye. I leave the cafe and walk to my car as fast as I can. I get into my car, place all my belonging on the passenger seat and being to drive home.

My mom's friend from work is friend with lando Norris so she asked him to get me a signed hat. I had no idea she did this but I am so happy about it!
Hope you enjoyed this chapter. I struggled to write it because I had no idea what i wanted to include in this chapter. Hopefully I can figure out more interesting thing to write into my story. 🧡🧡
