Third Person POV
General Ajax, renowned for his tactical prowess and unwavering dedication to Queen Adira's army, found himself in a rare moment of respite. Amidst the bustling activity of the kingdom, he had managed to steal away to his home nestled at the edge of the royal city. As he approached the familiar wooden door, a smile crept onto his face, anticipation building for the precious moments he would spend with his beloved wife and daughter.
Pushing open the door, Ajax was greeted by the warmth of their cozy home. The scent of a home-cooked meal wafted through the air, mingling with the laughter of his family. Lily, with her gentle demeanor and loving eyes, stood at the hearth, stirring a pot of stew. Kevi, a bundle of energy and joy, toddled around the room with her favorite stuffed toy in tow.
"Jaxi Bear!" Lily exclaimed, her face lighting up as she turned to greet her husband. "You're home early!"
Ajax crossed the room in long strides, his heart swelling with love at the sight of his wife and daughter. "I couldn't resist the thought of spending some quality time with my two favorite ladies," he replied, leaning in to press a tender kiss to Lily's cheek.
Kevi, detecting her father's aura, let out an excited squeal and stumbled over to him, arms outstretched. Ajax scooped her up into his arms, relishing in the feeling of her tiny frame against his chest.
"Hey there, my little warrior," Ajax cooed, peppering Kevi's chubby cheeks with kisses. "Did you miss me?"
Kevi giggled, her laughter filling the room like music. "Appa!"
Ajax's heart swelled with pride at the sound of his daughter's voice. He couldn't help but marvel at how quickly she was growing, each day bringing new wonders and discoveries.
Lily smiled fondly at the sight of her husband and daughter, her heart overflowing with love for her little family. "Dinner will be ready soon," she said, wiping her hands on her apron. "Why don't you two go and play while I finish up in the kitchen?"
Ajax nodded, placing a gentle kiss on Kevi's forehead before setting her down on the floor. Hand in hand, father and daughter made their way to the living area, where an array of toys awaited them.
Ajax settled himself onto the floor, surrounded by colorful blocks and plush animals. Kevi squealed with delight, her eyes alight with excitement as she dove into her toys, her tiny hands moving with a sense of purpose.
Ajax couldn't help but marvel at the sheer innocence and joy radiating from his daughter. In her presence, the weight of his responsibilities as a general seemed to fade away, replaced by a sense of wonder and awe.
As they played, Ajax couldn't resist the urge to engage Kevi in a little game of pretend. With exaggerated gestures and playful antics, he transformed into a fierce dragon, while Kevi played the role of the brave knight tasked with saving the kingdom.
Their laughter echoed through the room, a symphony of joy and happiness that filled Ajax's heart with warmth. In that moment, surrounded by the ones he loved most in the world, Ajax felt truly at peace.
As the evening wore on, Lily joined them, her arms laden with bowls of steaming stew and freshly baked bread. They gathered around the table, sharing stories and laughter as they enjoyed their meal together.
As the night drew to a close and Kevi's eyelids grew heavy with sleep, Ajax tucked her into bed, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead before tiptoeing out of the room.
Returning to the living area, Ajax found Lily waiting for him, a soft smile playing on her lips. They lingered in each other's embrace, savoring the quiet moments they shared together.
In the warmth of their home, surrounded by love and laughter, Ajax knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, as long as he had his family by his side, he could overcome anything.

The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the sleeping city as Kevi tossed and turned in her bed, her dreams plagued by shadows and whispers. She whimpered softly in her sleep, her brow furrowed with distress as she struggled to break free from the grip of her nightmares.
Suddenly, Kevi jolted awake with a gasp, her heart pounding in her chest as she sat up in bed, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The remnants of her nightmare lingered like tendrils of smoke, twisting and turning in her mind as she tried to shake off the feeling of dread that clung to her like a heavy cloak.
Kevi pushed off her covers and pushed herself up. She then expertly climbed out the crib and shimmied down. Kevi's little legs ran towards her parents' room. Their door was always open, so they could hear Kevi calling out for them.
"Appa," Kevi whispered, her voice trembling with fear as she pulled on Ajax's arm. "Appa, are you awake?"
Ajax stirred from his slumber, his eyes blinking open as he registered Kevi's distress. "Kevi? What's wrong, ladybug?" he asked, his voice groggy with sleep as he sat up.
Ajax then scooped the little girl up in his arms. Kevi took a deep breath as she snuggled against him. She buried her face in his chest, before confessing her issue.
"I had a nightmare, Appa," Her voice was muffled against his chest. "It was so scary, I couldn't shake it."
Ajax held her even closer as he murmured soothing words of comfort. "It's okay, peaches, I'm here," he whispered, his voice a gentle reassurance in the darkness. "You're safe now, I promise."
Kevi clung to Ajax's embrace, her tears soaking into the fabric of his shirt as she let herself be comforted by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. Despite the darkness that still lingered in the corners of her mind, she felt a sense of peace wash over her in the warmth of her father's embrace.
"Shall we play dolls, sweetheart?" Kevi nodded, so he stood with her.
Ajax carried the toddler back to her room. He placed her down and picked up the tiara that Kevi loved. Kevi had him put on the tutu and his fairy crown. Ajax sat down and picked up a doll. He cracked a smile as Kevi's fears disintegrated and was replaced with joy. They continued playing for a while before Ajax spoke.
"Feeling better, candy?" Ajax asked, his voice soft with concern as he brushed a stray lock of hair from Kevi's forehead.
Kevi nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she looked up at her father. "Yeah, Appa," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thanks to you."
Ajax smiled down at her. "Anytime, honey," he murmured, his voice filled with warmth. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."

Lily woke up and reached out to her husband, but was met with cold sheets. She sighed since he probably left early for work. When she opened her eyes, her brows furrowed at his unmade side. Normally, Ajax would make his side of the bed whenever he woke, so this was odd.
Lily yawned and stretched before getting up. She did her morning routine before going to wake Kevi. The little girl must've slept well since she didn't barge into Lily's room to wake her mother. Lily smiled as she neared her daughter's room, but her smile widened even more at the site before her.
Lily opened the door to find Ajax passed out with his back to the ground. Kevi peacefully slept on his chest with her face nuzzled in the crook of his neck. Lily lovingly smiled at the pair before snapping a picture. She would definitely be treasuring that picture forever. She then sweetly smiled at Ajax and fell even more in love with her husband.
