I yelped as I crashed into my dresser. Yep, that is most definitely gonna leave a bruise. I was rubbing my head when I heard bickering in the room. I perched myself up to see Neal and Paro hissing at each other.
"We shouldn't have done that!" Paro complained. "Why'd you make me leave?!"
"We were about to get slaughtered." Neal defended himself. "It was the only way."
"That's not true!" Paro shook her head. "They were defending us and we just ran."
"It was getting heated and I didn't want it to turn violent." He snapped. "It's called keeping the peace for a reason."
"I didn't even get to say goodbye." Paro's lips quivered. "Again!"
"Par-"
"No!" She snapped. "It's not fine. You should've given me more warning."
"I-"
"Okay." I interrupted them and stood. Their eyes widened as I dusted myself off. "I believe that I'm more than entitled to have my questions answered." I narrowed my eyes and heard them gulp. "Now, who the fuck-"
"Can we eat first?" Paro raised a hand.
"What?" I was stunned.
"She gets really hungry." Neal spoke up.
"Ya, I'm hungry." She pouted.
"What about me asking my questions didn't you-"
"Can't we just eat and then speak? Please!" She said in a high pitched voice that caused me to wince. "Please!"
"Just say yes!" Neal slapped his hands over his ears.
"Fine!" I groaned. "What do you want?"
"Dim sum!" Paro quickly stood. "I love dumplings!"
"I can't believe I'm entertaining this." I muttered.
Somehow, I managed to find myself taking them to my favorite dim sum spot in town. We went to a booth where the pair sat across from me. Neal seemed hella nervous while Paro was more interested in reading the entire menu to the waitresses! I facepalmed as the stunned waitress walked off.
"Okay, interrogation time." I cut the bullshit.
"We-"
"Ooh! Spring rolls!" Paro grinned and took the plate from the waitress. "Yum!" She bit into one. "Hot! Hot! Hot!"
"Here, have some water." Neal handed her the glass.
"Yo! Dumb and dumber!" I waved my hand on their faces.
"You're dumber." Paro smirked and nudged Neal.
"No, I'm not." He shook his head. "You're dumber! This is serious and all you can think about is stuffing your face!"
"Better to have me on a full stomach than a hangry Paro." She quirked a brow.
"Well, I can't argue with that." He quipped.
"Yoo-hoo!" I was beyond irritated. "Can you two focus?!"
"Yes, we're paying attention." Neal nudged Paro, who nodded.
"Thank you." I took a deep breath. "Who are you-"
"Here are the pork dumpling-"
"JESUS CHRIST!" I shouted resulting in the entire restaurant staring.
"I'm sorry." The waitress began crying before running off.
"Well, that was rude." Paro pointed out as she used chopsticks to stick a dumpling in her mouth.
