Jin looked over at Jungkook, he had his head in his hands with his legs bouncing off the floor of the car in rapid, panicked movements. It was unsettling to see him so bothered and uneasy. Jin had tried to calm him down, but the incident had made Jungkook irritated that he’d rejected Jin’s hand when he had tried to hold onto them.

He knew Jungkook wanted to go in there since they arrived ten minutes ago and Jin had parked a distance away from the white Mountain house. The lights were turned off and it looked almost abandoned from there. Jin knew it didn’t mean anything good for the whole place to be thrown into darkness but he couldn’t do anything about it.

He loved to fight and his past self would have taken this as an opportunity to beat someone, but he didn’t feel that adrenaline that pushed him to jump into things without analysing the risks. He didn’t want to just rush in, tackle the man onto the floor and beat him until his face was messed up and his ribs were broken into bits and pieces.

What he wanted was to make sure Jungkook was safe and away from any threats and attack, which was why despite how hard it was for him to sit and watch Jungkook struggle to remain calm, it was all he could do. Doing anything else would put Jungkook in danger and he wouldn’t risk that for anyone.

He wanted to speak to Jungkook, to reassure him that everything was going to be okay, but Jungkook had his eyes shut, shaking his head. He wouldn’t believe anything Jin said in that moment. All he wanted was for Hoseok to show up and sort out this mess.

Where even was he? Jin turned to the window to look and see if Hoseok had arrived and jumped to see someone come up on it. Hoseok’s face came into view, and Jin wind down the glass letting in a gush of breeze.

“Are you guys okay?” Hoseok asked, looking from Jin to Jungkook, who’d lifted his head up to look at the man that had just arrived. Hope flooded his eyes.

“Yes, we’re—"

“He’s in there with them,” Jungkook said in a rush, gesturing towards the house. "You have to help him.”

“How many people are in the house?”

“Umm..” Jungkook shut his eyes, tapping his forehead in an attempt to recall. He was out of it.

“There should be 6 people in there,” Jin said instead, remembering from what Jungkook had told him. “The culprit who is a middle-aged man, a woman in her early forties then a teenage boy, Bambam, twin girls age nine I believe and a security guard, Seungmin.” He faced Jungkook. "Right?"

"Yes. That's it."

Hoseok nodded, he looked behind him at a second person that had come with him. They were both holding a Glock 5, pointing it downwards. “I’ll go in with Abel now. Keep the doors locked and don't come out,” Hoseok said pointedly, before making his way to the house, keeping to the corners.

Jin’s gaze remained fixated on Hoseok as he made his way through a line of tall trees and disappeared around the corner of the house. Jin had never seen him in work mode before. Although, he had seen him in the police station but never on the field. He felt both pride and worry shoot down his body.
