Saying Jin was upset was an understatement. He was livid and irritated at Hoseok, for making a fool out of himself, for making a fool out of Jin and more than everything, Jesus Christ, for embarrassing Namjoon the way he did.
It was more annoying that Hoseok didn't see the wrong in what he did because to him he was only protecting Jin which was ridiculous seeing as he was the one who got Jin the 'bodyguard' job which put Jin exactly at risk.
He just didn't understand it. Hoseok was bent on seeing him like a child, which was only infuriating, because the both of them knew that Namjoon was right. Jin might be eighteen but his mindset was way beyond that. He'd had to grow up at a young age, when his peers where just to be kids.
Whatever fears Hoseok possessed was based on a past that Jin had sworn off. Jin had promised to never be the same person he used to be two years ago—angry, vengeful and vindictive. He'd promised him and Hoseok, but Hoseok didn't believe him. He still saw Jin as a ticking time bomb that was going to explode spontaneously.
Jin was too damn stressed thinking the whole thing over and over and over again in his head, and that just destroyed his motif for even coming over.
He'd tried calling Namjoon since he stormed out, but he wasn't taking any of Jin's calls. It was understandable, but hurtful, nonetheless. All Jin had wanted was to hang out with his two favorite hyungs. He'd just wanted one evening where he didn't have to worry about anything but instead, chill back and just do guys stuff.
He groaned in frustration. He was sitting on the edge of the bed in Hoseok's guest room, his elbows planted on his knees with his fingers intertwined while his head hung low between his shoulders. His eyes stayed closed as he recalled the look on Namjoon's face.
Namjoon had expressed various emotions that evening; hurt, annoyance, fury, irritation, confusion.. but of all of them, the one look that was imprinted in Jin's memory was that of him shocked. Shocked at Hoseok's vile words when he'd called him a bad influence. Because even Namjoon knew he wasn't a bad influence on Jin.
If anything, Namjoon was whom Jin needed most in his life, because unlike Hoseok, whose plan was to cage Jin, Namjoon actually encouraged Jin to come out of his shell. He let Jin flirt and drink alochol and have flings in moderation because he knew that Jin needed those things.
Jin's life was a mess and Namjoon saw it. He knew too much was going on and Jin needed some vices to balance it all out, or he might just lose it. Namjoon permitted Jin to do whatever he wanted, but he would also draw Jin back if he ever had too much. He was a good person, and all Jin had wanted to do that evening was to show it to Hoseok.
Unfortunately, his plan had backfired. Now, all Jin hoped for was for Namjoon to not desert him. With Hoseok's words and how he'd stepped all over Namjoon's ego as a man, he might decide that Jin was a kid after all and stop interacting with him.
