Jungkook had never been inside a club before.
He'd been in fancy restaurants and sat at bars with expensive drinks, but he’d never entered an actual bar or a club which served as a nightclub. His parent were going to Jin if they knew this was where he had taken their son.
But they didn't know. Jin had told them he was taking him to a friend's birthday party and since they knew Hoseok was a police officer they were rest assured that Jungkook was safe.
Although they had made sure a security guard with a gun had come with them. So, Liam sat on a high stool at the other end of the club in a casual shirt and trousers to blend in, while he stealthily observed the place for signs of threat which Jungkook was more than certain he wouldn't find.
"I see the birthday boy," Jin said, pulling him by his wrist to where Hoseok was standing with a few of his colleagues from work, talking and gisting.
Jungkook allowed himself to be dragged through the dance floor where a few people where already moving to the RnB song playing through the speaker. Usually, Jungkook hated social gatherings because the ones he attended where full of stuck up extremely wealthy people who believed they were better than each other, laughed in each other's faces but spoke bitterly behind each other's back.
But here, the laughters were genuine and no ill intentions came from their smiles. They patter each other in friendly manner and when the other person turned around, no one weilded a knife to their back. They insulted each other to their faces and it was done from a place of love, which marveled Jungkook.
He wasn't used to this. Even though the mixture of cheap perfumes made his stomach turn slightly, he couldn't help feel at ease being there.
"Hyung," Jin called, letting go of his hand to tap Hoseok on the shoulder. Hoseok spun around, his eyes shifting between the two of them. "Happy birthday."
"Thanks," Hoseok said. "Why didn't you warn me about this? I got ambushed."
Jin chuckled. "Sorry. He really wanted to do something nice for you. I couldn't take that away."
"God," Hoseok exhaled. "He can be crazy. But he is cute."
"Oh, you really like him, huh?" Jin asked to which Hoseok shrugged. "How did this even happen?"
"You wanted us to be friend, didn't you?"
"Friends, yes. Not lovers."
"Well, I asked you to be Jungkook’s body guard not, his boyfriend." Hoseok glared at Jin before shifting his attention to Jungkook, his glare softening. "He dragged you along?"
"It's okay. I'm happy to be here," Jungkook chuckled. "Happy birthday."
