Bambam's mother and Seungmin—the security guard that had been looking after the safe house—were taken away in an ambulance with the paramedics since he’d been badly injured. Seungmin had been unconscious when Jin had come into the house to find Bambam’s mother pointing a knife to her stomach and threatening to kill herself if Hoseok or Abel came close to her.
She’s been spewing some bullshit about how they had wounded her husband and how she loved him. They could take the kids away but she didn’t want to be taken away from her husband. She was still talking when he came up behind her and smacked her in the head with a wooden statue, knocking her out.
He could have tackled her to the ground instead but he hadn’t wanted to risk her stabbing herself in the frenzy or even stabbing him, so he’d done the best thing and knocked her out, which had pissed Hoseok off amongst other things.
Jin wasn’t the least bit bothered about Hoseok. He was just relieved that everything was over and Jungkook was okay. When Jungkook had called him by 11pm and asked to meet by the car park, he’d been worried that the threat had been on Jungkook.
Nonetheless, coming here alone was a risk, and he was just happy everyone innocent walked out of it unscathed. Well, except Seungmin. He’d been stabbed in the stomach by Bambam’s father when the man had been trying to get into the house. The paramedics had checked him and found that none of his vital organs had been affected and he was going to be fine once the right treatment was administered.
Hoseok had taken Jungkook and Hoseok to talk with the officers that had newly arrived to give them a detailed statement of what had happened. Jin leaned against the bonnet of the car watching them talk while one of the officers wrote down some things on a notepad.
What seemed like hours later, the officers shook hands with Hoseok and got into their car with Bambam’s father in the back seat. Hoseok gestured for Bambam to join his sisters in the car that he and Abel had arrived in.
“I’m taking them back home,” Jungkook said to Hoseok. “I can’t have them out of my sight anymore. They will be safer at the mansion. I should have taken them there the first time.” Jin could see the regret in his eyes as he spoke. He was already blaming himself.
“Are your parents aware of this?” Hoseok asked.
Jungkook shook his head. “Not yet, but they will be.”
“I can call them for you if you want. I’ll explain things properly,” he continued.
“No, I think this time around I’ll prefer them to hear it from my own mouth.”
“Alright,” Hoseok said, then he turned to Jin, his expression tight. "You better have a good explanation for what happened earlier."
Jin understood what it meant and it wasn’t about Bambam’s family. It was about the intimate hug with Jungkook that Hoseok had witnessed. "Right."
