I felt my heart thudding in my chest as I stepped onto the ship. A churning pain grew in my heart and my chest as I felt the cold breeze kiss my face as if saying goodbye. I let out a sigh as I watched the shore slowly disappear from my sight. This will be the farthest I'll be from home for the first time, but it's now or never. I can't imagine the pain I've caused my dad and my little sister by tearing our world apart.
It's been more or less a day, and I'm watching the sky change its hues as the sun sets. It felt like my heart's been crumpled at the thought of the unknown future ahead of me without the people that mattered to me the most.
I'm at the dock, looking at the strangers passing by. I'm more than clueless about where I'm going or where to start. Just when I thought my life was already in shambles, I realized the worst was yet to come.
I sat down in a store while taking a bite of the bread I bought. I let my eyes drift into nowhere. I found this new world too different from where I came from. The busy streets, crowded corners, and the noise. Everything is just pure chaos.
Nothing's sinking in but I stood up and took the piece of paper folded inside my pocket. De Leon Residences, Marikina City. Another long ride from the port I'm in.
And I'm now wondering whether I've made the right decision or not.
