I went to the office with a smile on my face. I know I might have left Ella confused about why I suddenly became a tamed lion with her. I mean, the girl of my dreams called me her wife. Who would not fold to that?
"Thank you. That means a lot to me."
The message was coming from Ella.
I parked my car in our building's parking lot and went straight to Ella's desk.
"She's still not coming, isn't she?"
I held my chest because she literally appeared out of nowhere.
"Nope."
I answered her while still being high with the thought of Ella calling me her wife.
"Then, what's with the smile? Are you on drugs?"
Kyla held my chin up and checked for dilation in my pupils.
"You look fine, although it's just unusual for you to look so ecstatic. Especially not in the morning."
She's still skeptical of my actions.
"Should I call the company nurse to check on you?"
I sent a pen flying towards her as she continued to tease me.
"Get to work, Atienza."
I shook my head and laughed.
I found myself checking the clock every minute. I can't wait to finish this day and go home to Ella.
I haven't had another from her since she texted me earlier, so I'm going to check on her now.
"Everything good? I'm going to cook dinner for us. Don't you dare leave the house without letting me know."
That sounded like an angry mom or wife, but it doesn't matter anyway.
I bought some meat because I want to cook adobo for my wife. I just hope my skills in cooking won't disappoint.
I saw Ella doing something on her laptop when I arrived.
"You look better now."
I said this to her because she might not have noticed my presence.
"I always look fine, love."
There's the cocky Ella again.
"What are you doing?"
Why am I being nosy with her, by the way?
"Why do you care?"
She lifted her gaze and fixed her glasses.
I just went to the kitchen and started making our dinner instead of arguing with her.
I had already set up our food when I noticed that she had already fallen asleep, so I took the time to stare at her pretty face.
I sat right next to her and began memorizing every curve in her face, and I couldn't help but stare at her lips.
I don't know what has gotten to me again, but I leaned in close to her and slowly kissed her lips.
"Dinner's ready, love."
I immediately stood up the moment she opened her eyes, and she slowly followed me to the dining table.
"What's with all this, Jema?"
She asked, referring to my actions.
"Nothing."
I answered while looking down on my feet as if I were guilty of something.
