I was in a deep slumber when my phone rang nonstop. I am going to kill the person calling. This has been the first decent sleep I have had in a week because I am still adjusting.
"What the hell? It's one in the morning!"
I snapped at the person on the line.
"I'm sorry if I might have interrupted your sleep, ma'am, but may I ask if this is Miss Jema?"
I'm sure I might have heard that voice somewhere.
"Yes, yes."
I have already calmed down a bit.
"This is from Beatriz Lounge, and uhm, your boss, Miss De Jesus, if I'm not mistaken, might have had too much to drink. She, uhm, kind of passed out."
The bartender is right.
"Please keep her safe until I get there. I'm on my way."
Wow, just wow. This girl was built differently. Just how unpredictable could she really be?
I sped to Bea's pub in the fastest way I could, and I found Ella so wasted in one of the seats.
"Hi, can I take my boss now? I'm sorry for the attitude earlier."
I grinned at the bartender.
"No, it's fine. I completely understand."
He smiled at me.
"Thank you, uhm?"
I held out my hand and looked at him as if asking for his name."
"Karlo."
He said it warmly as he held my hand.
"Thank you, Karlo. I think we should get going now."
I said as I turned my gaze on Ella.
"You sure you don't need a hand?"
He thoughtfully asked.
"I can handle it. Thank you again."
I smiled at him as I carried Ella in a bridal way.
She was totally asleep while I was carrying her to my car, but as she started drunk talking while I was fixing her seat belt.
"Who are you? Where are you taking me?"
I don't know if only her speech was impaired or also her brain.
"I want Jema. I need Jema!"
She loudly said this as she was scratching her head.
"I am Jema."
I smiled at her as I held her hand and touched her face.
"No, you're not my wife because you sound so calm."
She debated.
"My wife will nag at me for seeing me like this."
She added that as she was trying to take my hands off her.
It made me chuckle because she's so cute.
"Shhhh, sleep now."
I hugged her and kissed her forehead.
She called me her wife.
I thought I was the only one who fell.
