Ella told me she was a bit sad about not being able to share a purple-pink sky with me once. That was when she proposed to me. After that day, we never witnessed the sunset without each other.
It's our first wedding anniversary, and we are now at the boulevard where our forever started.
I took some pictures of my wife peacefully looking at the waves and the sunset, but she will always be my favorite subject.
"I love you more than most, wife."
I gently kissed Ella's lips as she wrapped her arms around my waist. All our kisses feel like our first. It just gets even better.
We felt satisfied looking at our polaroid pictures. I do not think a smile has left our faces since we got here.
"Tell me this is forever."
I turned my gaze to Ella as I leaned closer to her, clasping my arms around her.
"This is forever."
She took my hands and placed them on her cheeks.
"For eternity, it will be."
I never knew what it was like to see yourself in someone's eyes—that it made you crave every single good thing in this life. But with Ella—God, she made me yearn for immortality, for our love to transcend time.
She will always be the one I return to.
