I was lost in my own world, thinking about the days I'd spent in Siargao. I already miss the peaceful surroundings. It's too far from these bustling streets. But my fantasy was shaken when my phone rang.
"Where are you?"
Bea said, almost whispering.
"Ooops."
My voice sounded in lowercase panic.
"I'm on my way."
I told her before ending the call.
I immediately stood up and headed to the door. I raised my coffee cup to Myla, the awkward cashier, before I got out of their cafe.
I drove straight to Bea's office. Thank God I didn't spill my coffee.
I waved at the guard as I ran to the escalator.
"Excuse me."
I said this to the people I bumped into.
"Fuck, I'm thirty minutes late."
I said this as I reached Bea's glass door.
She obviously started the meeting without me.
"Now, there she is."
Bea turned her gaze at me as I entered the room.
"Big fan of grand entrances and late appearances."
I smirked at her while making my way to one vacant seat.
"Well, thank you for your patience, everyone."
I confidently spoke.
"She's Jorella Marie De Jesus, my cousin. From now on, she's going to be your boss."
Bea stated as she gave me a killer look.
"Oh, quit calling me that. Just call me Ella, people."
I cockily said this while placing my feet on the table.
Everyone in the room felt uncomfortable with what I did, and I literally saw how their eyes widened.
"Any questions?"
Bea asked, trying to lighten the atmosphere.
"If there's none, this meeting is adjourned. You can now leave."
She ended the meeting, but just as I was leaving, she suddenly called me out.
"Ella and Jema, stay."
Her words made me stop.
"Argghhh, why?"
I groaned.
"Ella, this is Jema. She's my personal assistant, but she's yours now since I'm leaving."
Bea introduced me to a familiar girl who obviously was trying to avoid eye contact with me at all costs. Those deep brown almond eyes, long chestnut brown hair, and crimson red lips. Fuck, this is awkward.
"Jema, this is Ella. You're going to take care of her. She's going to be the end of this company if you don't."
I rolled my eyes at Bea.
I sat across from them with my legs parted and my arms crossed.
"I'll leave you two at it."
Bea then went out of the room.
I didn't speak, but I intently looked at her.
"What?"
She blurted.
"Well, you surprisingly looked exactly like the girl I fucked last night."
I laughed.
"Pervert!"
She shouted at me as she threw me her purse and ran out of the room.
"Well, that's a start."
I threw my hands up and followed her.
