I've been in this company for two years, but I've never had any problems working with Bea. In fact, she even treated me like her princess. But this girl, she told me, who's deep down a good person, must have brainwashed her into thinking about her in that way.

I was about to go when I decided to check on my new boss. And guess what I've found? She was peacefully sleeping at 8:30 in the morning. I can say she's a bit of a knucklehead, but I must admit I am really falling for her. Not to mention, she's got a lover.

"Long day?"

Kyla, my best friend, asked.

"It didn't even start yet, but I am so done."

I dropped my head on the desk.

"I'm guessing you two don't get along very well."

Kyla grinned at me while fixing her desk.

"I suppose so."

I answered and then shrugged it off because we might not get along well with company matters, but we've been flirting so fucking well, nonstop.

The hours dragged like eternity before the end of our duty. I decided to buy something to cook since my housemate doesn't look like someone who knows anything about the kitchen.

"I already sent you everything you need to work on. Please check on it and don't screw it up."

I texted her before driving to the supermarket.

I decided to cook chicken with some bell peppers, broccoli, carrots, snap peas, onions, and mushrooms for our dinner, but the house appeared to be empty the moment I stepped inside.

There's no sign of Ella anywhere I look, so I dialed her number. It didn't even ring.

"The number you have dialed is either unattended or out of coverage area. Please try your call later."

Instead of getting mad at Ella, I actually felt sad. I thought we'd share my cooking tonight.

I went to her room and found a note with a flash drive.

"I already finished the reports needed on Friday. Make sure you study every bit of it, because I might not be around until next week. Thank you, Jema! I know you can do this."

Did she literally just bail on me? The board will definitely not let me preside in the meeting. That girl is literally out of her mind.

Why do I suddenly miss her? I can't help but think that what I said earlier was too much; that's why she went away.

I laid on her bed and hugged her pillow, inhaling any trace of scent she had left.

I shouldn't be this concerned about her whereabouts. I mean, she's a grown person, but for some reason, I want to know she's safe.
