The morning came, and the first thing I saw was Jema's angry face.
"For a moment, I thought you were dead. I was about to call a mortuary, but unfortunately, you opened your eyes."
Jema sarcastically said.
"What?"
I'm still half asleep, but she appeared to be ready to go.
"Are you just going to stare at me like an idiot, you spoiled brat?"
She nagged at me.
"You're not my mom. Shut up."
I yawned and then buried my face on my pillow.
"What is wrong with you, De Jesus? You have a company to run!"
She screamed at me again, looking like her carotid artery might explode at any moment.
"For one, I'm the boss, Jema. I'm going to get to the office whenever I want. Second, you should learn how to respect me."
I sat on my bed, facing her.
"Then act like it, Miss De Jesus, and for the record, you should take your own advice because you should be respecting other people's time because, unlike you, they don't waste their time proving themselves to be the alpha even when they're not."
She coldly said this to me.
"Wow, bravo."
I applauded after hearing her speech.
"If you want so badly to run that company, go right ahead. You're so proper, right? I am not leaving this bed until I feel like it."
I answered in defiance with everything she just said.
"Bea's one of the most sane people I've known. Now I'm wondering if she made the right choice by letting you run their company."
She said it in contempt.
"What's the point of having you here if I'm just going to do all the work alone? Go to the office and tell me what's in it for my day."
Jema slammed the door behind her as she left my room.
"You should watch your tone and your attitude with me."
I stood up to face her.
"Learn to manage your stupidity first. Maybe then, I would reconsider."
Jema left me jaw-dropped as she made her way to her car. Maybe she's going to fix things in the office for me. Well, I hope so, because I don't plan on stressing myself out here.
We didn't speak for the whole day, but she has sent me the paperwork that needs to be done and the meetings I need to show up to.
Friday's loaded, but I'm still going home to Tatay Jessie and Mafe.
