"Is my princess still asleep? You don't want to be late on the first day of twelfth grade, right?" Purvi's voice had its usual calming tone.

"Exactly! You'll want to get ready and look your best, isn't that right?" she added, teasingly, knowing how excited her daughter was about finally being allowed to have a boyfriend, as she chatted with her best friend Tanya— the only one who knew every little detail about Siya.

"What do you mean, Mumma?" Siya rasped in her sleepy voice.

"I know exactly why she said that," Siya thought to herself. As thrilled as she was to start her final year, she was even more excited about getting to know the boys. Not that she wasn't allowed to have guy friends, but she always kept it within limits, careful not to do anything that would upset her parents.

Purvi had always been strict but loving. She made sure to set a clear rule for her daughter: "No boyfriends until Siya's 17." It wasn't just for Siya though—she had made the same rule for her eldest, Rajveer Arora, who wasn't allowed to date until he was 18.

Even though Rajveer was twenty-five now and studying in Delhi, he couldn't help but miss his parents and his little princess. The eight-year age gap never stopped the two from having the usual crazy brother-sister bond.

Now that Siya was finally 17, she was excited to start a new chapter in her life. But she wasn't in a rush—she knew exactly what she wanted in a boyfriend and what red flags to watch out for.

After getting ready and slinging her backpack over her shoulder, Siya sat down at the breakfast table, all set to leave after eating.

That's when she heard her dad, Virajas, say, "We get that you're excited, kiddo. We've been careful all these years, even when your friends started dating. We just wanted to keep you safe. But now that you're growing up, we trust you to make good choices. There's no rush to get into a relationship, but if you like someone, don't be afraid to see where it goes."

Siya couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her dad had always been her biggest supporter, never holding her back. Even when his reputation as a businessman could've been on the line, he always put her happiness first.

As they say, 'The one who loves you would never put their reputation above your tears and smiles.' The men in her life had always treated the women with such respect, and Siya knew her perfect partner would have to share the same values as the men in her family.

"Oh, my superhero dad, your princess knows that already. There's nothing you and Mumma don't already know about me. Don't worry," Siya said with a smile.
