Malakai Davis
I threw my head back and groaned. Of course, it was just my luck that I had to kiss Jason. Jason rubbed my thigh, which just made me want to puke. I pushed his hand off of me and scowled at him. He just smirked and chuckled. "Come on Kai, you said that you would play the game."
That was true but that didn't mean that I had to be happy about the results of the game. "Still, I didn't anticipate kissing you."
"For old time's sake?" Jason puckered his lips and leaned in. I pushed his face in a different direction with my index finger.
"You just miss me." I teased.
"Maybe I do." Jason tried again. Leaning in closer to me with his crusty ass lips puckered. I sighed and leaned forward until I met his lips. Kissing Jason gave me the same familiar feeling of disappointment that it always had. Satisfied, Jason pulled away before I did.
I pushed down the urge to wipe my lips and grimace. Instead, I gave him a tight-lipped smile. "Are you happy? Now I'm done." I smoothed out my shirt, getting ready to get up but Laura Jenkins grabbed my arm.
"No way, it's your turn to spin. Then you can quit. But you know the rules, Kai." Laura smiled deviously.
"Which are?" I asked. Laura probably made the rules up on the spot. I knew whatever she came up with would be absolutely stupid.
"That you, and whoever the bottle lands on, have to go in the closet for seven minutes." Laura declared.
I rolled my eyes. "I'm pretty sure you just made that up." I turned to Jason who started the game in the first place. "She made that up didn't she?"
Jason shrugged and cracked his fingers. "I don't know. I'm just hoping it lands on me."
"Of course you do." I snorted. I chose not to protest any further and prolong my sentence. I spun the bottle and watched as it spun for quite some time. Against my better judgment, I prayed that it landed on Jason. He was a safe and familiar option, even if I didn't enjoy kissing him.
But no, the bottle didn't land on him. It landed on the last person I would ever want it to land on, it landed on Hiraeth Davenport. My mouth dropped in shock. "I should just go home."
"Absolutely not, the rules are rules and both of you signed up." Laura jumped up excitedly. She pulled me onto my feet and turned to a completely stunned Hiraeth. "Come on..."
"Her name is Hiraeth," I spoke up.
Laura turned to Hiraeth and winked. "Hiraeth, take Malakai into the closet and show her a good time."
Jason laughed as if it was the most absurd thing he had ever heard. "She can try but my girlfriend doesn't swing that way. She's loyal to dick. My dick."
Now it was my turn to laugh. "How can I be loyal to something that I've never seen?" Jason's smile was wiped off his face and he glared at me.
Hiraeth cleared her throat and stood up. She spared one sad glance at Jason before looking at me. "Let's get this over with so that you can go home."
"Eager are we?" I muttered under my breath as I followed her to the nearest closet. Thankfully it wasn't small or cramped so Hiraeth and I didn't even have to touch each other in any way.
Not that I would have even been into it if we had to.
The second I closed the door, Hiraeth spoke in a panic. "We shouldn't do anything that we're going to regret!"
I turned to her, confused as hell. "You were the one who rushed into the closet."
Hiraeth looked at the door. Her arm smoothed over her caramel-colored skin in a self-soothing manner. She looked pretty stressed about something. I would have assured her that we didn't have to do anything but she spoke before I could. "I can't. I... I... have a crush on..."
