Hiraeth Davenport

I smoothed out my skirt and tried to see if it was long enough to cover my ass. I didn't want to expose myself to anyone.

I was decently happy with the length and turned to Jamie for some approval. "Do I look okay?"

Jamie eyed me suspiciously. "Why are you getting dressed for a simple tutoring session?"

I dismissed her question with a wave of my palm. The answer to that question should have been very obvious. "Do I look okay or not?"

"Yes, you look fine," Jamie assured me. A smile crept up on her face as it dawned on her. "Is this about the kiss?"

I scowled and crossed my arms. "You said that you wouldn't talk about it."

"I did but I pretty much lied. As your older sister, I am obligated to tease you about it." She shrugged shamelessly.

I sighed. "What if she kissed me as some cheap birthday gift?" Honestly, I had no idea why Malakai would kiss me. She showed no interest in me romantically or even sexually up until that point. So I didn't know how to interpret it. And I didn't want to ask her because it would be embarrassing if I misinterpreted the whole thing.

"I thought the lap dance was a birthday gift?" Jamie pointed out. I nodded. "Then the kiss was just... extra. It wasn't included in the gift, strippers aren't supposed to kiss their clients."

"But what does it mean?" I asked.

Jamie laughed and shrugged. "I have no answers for you. That's something you would have to ask her."

"What if she says it was a mistake?" I frowned. That was the worst outcome but it seemed the most likely.

"What if she says that she's loved you for years?" Jamie questioned. I deadpanned and she shrugged in response. "You never know until you ask for clarification. What's the worst that can happen?"

"She's not gay," I mumbled.

"So you keep saying. You have never asked her." Jamie pointed out. "Plus, what straight girl kisses other girls, while they're sober?" Jamie was right, I didn't taste any alcohol on Malakai's lips.

I didn't taste anything except utter heaven. I could feel heat rush to my cheeks as I started to think about the kiss.

Jamie snapped three times to get my attention again. "Earth to Hiraeth." She teased.

"Are you sure that I look okay?" I asked once again.

Jamie opened her mouth to speak but was silenced by Wynn, who suddenly appeared against my doorway. "You look cute. Also, look what the cat dragged in." She pointed to Malakai who was coming up the hall.

"Rude." Malakai pushed her way into the room.

Jamie stepped in between Wynn and Malakai before anything progressed. I could tell by her mischievous smile that she was planning on saying something stupid. "If I hear any screaming or moaning, I will report you to your father."

"Jamie!" I whined.

Malakai laughed and turned to Jamie, confused as to what the hell she was going on about. Before Malakai could comment, Jamie pointed at her and spoke. "Hands to yourself. Leave my baby sister with her virtue."

"I'm going to kill you in your sleep, you're embarrassing me." I lunged at her, but Malakai blocked me.

She placed her arm around my stomach, and I froze at her touch. Jamie smirked at me, knowingly.

"Jay Jay, can't possibly embarrass you as much as that skimpy outfit," Wynn spoke up.

"Why are you here?" I grumbled. "Both of you need to get the fuck out before I get my dad's shotgun."

Jamie rolled her eyes. But she grabbed Wynn and left my room. I closed my door and huffed in annoyance.

"What was all that about?" Malakai asked as she sat on my bed. I figured now wasn't the best time to tell her to strip and put on something else. I was positive that I wouldn't be able to handle it.

"Jamie is in a playful mood. Something about being my older sister." I was practically telling the truth. I was just leaving out a bit of information.

I sat on my bed, but I kept a bit of a distance from Malakai. My heart started to race as her eyes wandered over my body. "Jason would like that skirt. You should wear stuff like that more often."

"You're making me blush," I said sarcastically as I rolled my eyes in order to hide my embarrassment.

She laughed and scooted closer to me. "I'm being honest, Hiraeth. Maybe you should wear that on your first date."

"First date?" I asked.

She shrugged. "I was thinking... maybe I should talk to him and let him know that you like him. He's been single for a while and is only fooling around with one girl that he isn't even committed to-"

"Who's the girl?" I frowned. I wasn't jealous or anything, I was just confused as to why he wouldn't just date her.

Malakai glanced at the door and then back to me. "No need to get jealous, I promise you she means nothing to him. Just someone to warm his bed at night."

I crossed my arms. "I don't think it's a good idea to go out with him if he just sleeps around."

"Jason is a loyal guy, he would never cheat on you, let alone with that heathen." Malakai laughed.

There was no way in hell I wanted to be with him. I never did, and this whole charade was going way too far. I had to pull the plug before Jason got involved and potentially hurt.

But I couldn't just tell the truth. "I don't think it's a good idea in general, not just because of that. I'm just... not really ready to do relationship things."

"Relationship things?" Malakai cocked her head to the side. "You haven't been with anyone since Nate?"

"Been with is a stretch. It was just a kiss." I mumbled. Malakai rolled her eyes. "You were the second person I ever kissed," I said shakily. I was a bit afraid to bring up our kiss.

"Hmm..." Malakai thought for a second. I felt my heart start to race and my eyes started to water. "I can help you practice if it means you'll finally stop being self-conscious and go out with him."

"You'll kiss me?" I asked, a little too excitedly for my liking.

Malakai didn't seem to notice my excitement. "I'll kiss you exactly like he would so you'll know what to expect."

Despite my better judgment, I agreed. "Okay."

Malakai scooted even closer to me and placed her hand on my leg. "This skirt looks lovely on you."

"He's a sweet talker?" I forced out. I didn't give a single fuck about Jason. I just wanted her to kiss me.

"He'll usually give you a compliment before he stares at your lips and leans forward." Malakai placed her hand under my chin. She kissed me, roughly capturing my lips. I pulled away immediately. If that was the way Jason kissed, than I was glad I never had to kiss him.

"Are you okay?" Malakai asked, concerned.

Multiple thoughts screamed in my head, but one was very apparent. "Kiss me how you would." Malakai didn't even hesistate. She leaned in once again and gently grabbed my throat so that she could pull me in the rest of the way. She was gentle yet assertive with her kiss. Every thought in my head quieted as the smell and feel of her clouded my senses.

I was the first to pull away for air, but I wasn't exactly done. I kissed her once again. Her lips and tongue were addictive, I couldn't even imagine stopping. I hoped we never did.

A loud knock on the door startled both of us. Me, more than Malakai, as I completely jumped off the bed. Malakai just bit her lip and crossed her legs, never taking her eyes off my lips.

Neither of us said anything so Jamie opened the door. "Wynn is ordering pizza, any requests?"

"No." Malakai turned to Jamie with a completely normal expression. She hopped off my bed. "Do you guys have water?"

"Yeah, in the kitchen." Jamie nodded her head towards the direction of the kitchen. "Do you prefer bottled?" Jamie and Malakai left. Leaving me completely speechless and stunned.
