Hiraeth Davenport
I laid, sprawled out, on my bed staring at the ceiling. I tried to ignore the two imbeciles that pranced around my room giggling.
"Rye you know you have to go right?" Wynn said. I turned to look at her, she was holding up one of my shirts.
"I don't."
"You do because I've already paid ten dollars for your fucking wristband. So you have to go to the party. And it is going to be fucking awesome." Wynn sang the last word.
"You were completely fine with going to the party on Friday. What happened?" Jamie asked while brushing her ginger hair into a slick ponytail.
"Malakai isn't going to the party. And Hiraeth no longer wants to do anything with her real friends anymore." Wynn said judgementally. She looked at her outfit in the full-length mirror that hung up on my closet door.
I rolled my eyes. "That is so not true Wynn. I'm just not in the mood to go to a party. I'd rather stay home and do my math homework."
"What is wrong with you?" Jamie turned to me.
"Malakai Davis," Wynn grumbled. "I think she's doing some kind of witchcraft on Hiraeth."
"Witchcraft?" I sat up, filled with sudden curiosity.
"It doesn't even seem like you're interested in learning about Jason anymore. You just want to hang out with her." Wynn said.
I rubbed my temples, frustrated. "That's exactly what I've been trying to tell you, but you're not listening to me."
Wynn put her hand on her hip and shook her head. "You need to stay focused. Your mission is to win Jason. Forget about Malakai."
"Jason's going to this party right?" Jamie asked.
"He is," Wynn confirmed. "We just have to figure out how to get Hiraeth to talk to him."
"I don't want to talk to him," I said.
"You know it's a sin to lie Rye." Wynn started going through the clothes in my closet.
"You're not even religious." I sat up.
"Speaking of Malakai-" Jamie started.
I shut her down quickly. "We ended that conversation a long time ago." I was sick of hearing about Jamie's slight crush on Malakai. It was disgusting, Jamie barely knew anything about Malakai.
Jamie gave me a knowing smirk. "Someone sounds jealous." She laughed. "Don't worry I won't tell Wynn."
"Tell Wynn what?" Wynn and I asked. Wynn's voice was more clueless, but for some reason, mine had venom in it.
Wynn came out of the closet. "Wynn wants to know too. Tell Wynn."
"Stop talking in the third person. It's weird." I laid back down. "You guys should go to the party before you end up late."
"You're going regardless if you want to or not." Wynn analyzed a jean skirt that she held. After flipping it over, she nodded to herself and threw it at me. The skirt landed on my face.
Jamie sat on my bed and removed the skirt from my face. "Have you thought about how you're going to approach Jason?"
"No, I haven't," I grumbled.
"What is Malakai teaching you during your sessions?" Jamie asked suspiciously.
"How to scissor apparently." Wynn snorted. She reached into my closet and pulled out a green crop top.
