I watched as Lilith gently shooed nifty away before turning back to my father, catching a guilty glimpse on his face. There may still be a chance.

"Daddy" I reached out to him "please help me"

His fist tightened "I can't"

"But why not-"

"Vaggie!" He grabbed my shoulders, trembling slightly "you don't understand. Heaven never listens. They didn't listen to me! There won't listen to you!"

"You don't know that-"

"I do!" I was cut off guard by the amount of pain plastered on his face "you didn't know that when, I tried this all before. My dreams were too hard to defend"

He threw some magic down, summoning some spear imagery "and in the end, I won't lose it all again" figures of his past family faded as the spears turned to me. "Daddy I don't need you to protect me from this" I gently pushed him away.

"I just don't want you to be crushed by them like I was" his eyes held a vulnerability I've never seen before.

"Dad" I sighed "when I was young I didn't really know you at all" memories of me watching my father through the doorway flooded back to me "I always felt so small but I heard your stories and I was enthralled" my father notices me and calls me over "tales about your lofty dreams" he picked up his guitar and sung songs about eden "I listened breathlessly, imagining it could be me"

"Looks like the apple didn't fall far" he created an apple in his hand.

I rolled my eyes with a smile "took you a while"

"I missed that smile" he cupped my face with gentle eyes.

"Now all I'm hoping, now that my eyes are open, is that we can start again, not be pulled apart again" his wings sprouted out as he carrying me to the sky "cause in the end, you are part of who am"

"I'll support your dreams no matter what lies in store" dad smiled softly as he carried me through the sky.
