Adams pov

My vision was blurry as I came to. Was that a dream? A memory maybe? If so where the fuck am I now? And what's this black and white blur I'm seeing?

"Dad?" I blinked my burry vision away and was in shock at who I saw.

"Seth?"

"Dad!" He ran up and hugged me "oh my god you're awake. You're ok!"

"Seth" I touched his face. He's real "I'm so sorry son" a tear rolled down my face "I was a shit dad. I was so messed up after Cain and able that I pushed you away"

"It's ok dad, I understand-"

"It's not ok!" I yelled "you didn't deserve any of that. I want another chance at being a good dad, the dad you deserve"

"I'd like that" he leaned his forehead against mine.

"Hey Seth you ready to swap places-" cain dropped his drink at the sight of me "dad?"

"Hey Cain, the fuck did you do to your hair" I smirked.

He laughed shakily before approaching me "dad I'm sorry-"

"Shut the fuck up and hug me" I cut him off. He nodded and hugged me, whimpering into my shoulder.

Seth cupped his hands around his mouth and yelled "vaggie! Able! Dad's awake"

"Ables here?" My eyes widened in disbelief.

"Dad!" Able jumped into my arms. I winched in pain but I didn't care. He's here. They're all here.

"My beautiful boy" I ran my hands through his hair, kissing the top of his head.

"Daddy?" Vaggie stood by the doorway, silent tears rolling down her face.

I slowly sat up and held my hand out to her. She quickly flew up and hugged me "I was so so scared"

"Shh I know honey but I bet you did an amazing job" I kissed her forehead, happy to be with our family.

"Adam!" I looked up to see the others surrounding me.

"Thanks for taking the hit. You're a real pal!"

"Welcome back your highness"

"Vaggie was so worried"

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you"

I suppressed a sigh. So much for family time!

*The next day*

Vaggies pov

"We should go out!" We looked up in disbelief at dads suggestion "just the five of us, like a family"

"Where would we go?" Cain asked.

"To a bar of course!" He grinned "my four kids are adults now. I want to share a drink with you all"

"That sounds lovely daddy but are you sure you're in any condition to travel" I asked worriedly.

"Psh I'm fine" he shrugged me off "one little coma can't keep your old man down"

"Don't worry little sis. We'll look after him" seth whispered to me. I nodded gratefully.

"Do I have to have a drink with him" able glared at his brother.

"Oh fuck you" cain growled "Like I'd want to drink with you princess. You'd probably pass out after one"

"I can handle my drink just fine. Probably better than you"

"You wanna bet bitch!"

"Enough!" Dad slapped them over the head "I am not dealing with this bullshit! We are going out like a happy fucking family. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes sir" they said in unison. Me and seth looked at each other in disbelief. Thank god for dad!

"I'm coming too!" Lute insisted "I understand this is a family moment but I can't risk losing you again" her normally strong frame shook with emotion.

"Ok ok don't cry" dad scratched the back of his neck "though this was supposed to be a family day out if it makes you feel better you can come" she nodded and hugged him. Dad winched but still hugged her back.

"Ok" I pulled her away, looking over dad worriedly "let's get going, daddy do you need to lean on one of us?"

"I'm fine quit your fussing!" He waved me away and walked, lute following closely behind. I sighed as I followed behind him. Why does he have to be so stubborn!

*Time skip*

"Cheers!" The six of us clicked glasses as we drank together, laughing like a proper family. For a while all my stress and fears faded away like a bad dream...

"Get me another drink!"

That is until I saw him!

"Angel dust" I muttered in disbelief. He looked basically the same except his wings were gone, replaced with extra arms and one of his eyes were black along with his pink freckles becoming eyes.

He looked up at us and sighed "fuck my life"

"That son of a bitch" dad stood up only to buckle in pain.

"Daddy let me handle this" I kissed his forehead before strolling over to him "hey buddy, I'd offer you a drink but I suspect you've had one too many"

"Fuck off girlie" he turned his back to me.

"What happened you?" I asked.

"What happened?" he let out a shaky laugh "what happened is you fucks killed me and I ended up stranded out here!" Lute jumped in front of me protectively.

"Weapon? The fuck are you doing here?" He glared at her "you're supposed to be loyal to me. So I suggest you put down that spear before I remind you of your place"

"She's not loyal to anyone" dad stood up, his pain replaced by anger "threaten her again and I'll make you regret it"

"Adam" her eyes widened in surprise.

"I should have known. You've always had a habit of taking in defective angels" he laughed.

"The fuck did you say?"

"Fuck this I'm leaving" he grabbed one more drink for the road before storming out.

"Yeah you better fucking run!" He yelled out before collapsing on a chair. The boys surrounded him worriedly.

I stared out the door longingly "I have to help him dad"

"Vaggie!"

"Guys look after him" after their nod of confirmation I sprinted out the door "angel wait!"

"Leave me alone" he kept walking on.

"I can't leave you alone, not when you're spending all your time drinking and doing drugs" I pointed to the bag of angel dust in his pocket.

"That ain't your problem kid"

"Please just let me help you" I grabbed his arm.

"And how are you going to that huh?" He glared at me "teach me to be a good person? Clearly that fact that I'm here proves I'm irradeemable"

"No one's irradeemable" I said firmly "emily informed us that fizz was accepted into heaven despite being born here. That means you could get back too, be with your family again"

"You really think I can make it back?" His eyes shone with hope.

"If you're willing to put in the work then I'm sure you can" I gave him a reassuring smile.

He looked away "why are you doing this? After all I did- what reason could you possibly have?"

"I met your son" he stumbled back at my answer "he was so kind and sweet. He deserves to have both his parents with him"

"You're right. He's a good kid. A better kid than I deserve" he wiped his tears away before smiling at me "alright kid. Let's give this redemption thing a shot!"
