I'll Be Back...

'Katie's P.O.V'

***3 weeks later***

Three weeks. Three whole weeks and not one sign of him waking up. All this time I have just been continuing the same routine everyday; getting some food, sitting by Jai, going home having a wash, coming back to the hospital, sleeping beside Jai.

The nurses kindly set up a bed for me next to Jai's so I wouldn't have to sleep on the rock hard chair that I'm sick of the sight of seeing. It's hard trying to go to sleep every night not knowing whether Jai will ever wake up plus with the constant beeping noise from the monitors attached to him that also makes getting to sleep quite a struggle.

The nurses and doctors have been doing daily checks on him and there has been no change to his recovery each time but on the bright side he isn't getting any worse. I just want him back.

Currently I'm driving back to my apartment to have a shower and get some nice food as having hospital food all the time is not the nicest thing.

I pulled into the car park and got out the car. I slotted the key into the door and twisted it as my front door squeezed open. My mum was in the living room watching TV. She had come over too visit us but was unbeknown to the fact Jai was in hospital. 

"Hey mum." I weakly smiled.

"Hi honey, any signs of Jai recovering yet?" She questioned.

"Nope, sadly not. I just want to know what happened to him and hear his voice again." My voice started to crack as tears welled in my eyes.

I have kind of neglected my mum since she has arrived as I have always been at the hospital but she sometimes comes up and drops some snacks off and fresh clothes. 

She jumped off the couch and enveloped me in a bear hug. I tightly wrapped my arms around her as I silently sobbed in her shoulder. She soothingly rubbed my back in a circular motion trying to calm me down.

"It's okay darling, he will get better. You know he can pull through this he's a strong boy." She gave me a reassuring smile.

I removed my head from her shoulder and smiled back as I wiped my eyes. I took a deep breath and nodded my head agreeing with her.

"I hope." I whispered.

I returned back to the hospital around an hour later and bought a coffee from the canteen.

I walked into Jai's room and strolled over to my temporary bed. I sat on top of it and crossed my legs as I held Jai's hand stroking my thumb along the top of it.

"Please Jai, wake up or do something so I know you can hear me" I softly spoke.

I sighed as I got no response. My vision focused on my lap as I was staring into space.

I felt a light squeeze on my hand and my head immediately shot up.

"Jai?" I said.

A loud beeping noise came from one of the machines as I shot up and shouted for a nurse.

Soon a nurse came running in and walking over to one of the monitors.

"It seems Jai here is waking up" the nurse grinned.

Tears of joy flew down my cheeks as a large smile spread all over my face.

I'm finally going to get some answers. But most importantly I'm going to hear his husky voice again and see his soft chocolate eyes that you can get lost in. I'm going to have the Jai I know back.

'Jai's P.O.V'

Okay, where the fuck am I is my first question, and secondly, why the hell is everything so white?

"Hello Jai." A voice echoed around the room. If this even is a room.

"Err..hey.." I replied.

"I guess you are wondering where you are and why you are here?" The voice questioned.

"It would be helpful to know"

"Well Jai you are in the middle of choosing your way to either life or death."

"Well obviously I'm not going to let myself die, I need to see Katie one last time because I love her so much. I couldn't leave her."

"What you need to do now is fight for your life, literally. Carry on walking down there, and you'll get closer." He pointed straight ahead then just faded away.

What the fuck was that.

I did as the guy said and started to walk down. I could hear muffled voices shouting my name. Is that Katie? Oh my god it feels like I haven't seen her in years. How long have I been like this? All I remember is giving Sam the money and walking away.

I need to know how I even got in this state...
