As I sat on the steps of the Dilaurentis house, I wonder if I should just go home and forget about it.
Maybe he doesn't even want to talk to me. Who knows. All I need to know is if he can forgive me.
This was a stupid idea, I'm just going to go home. Safe in bed. Or I can go to Spencer's house.
I stood up and starting to walk to Spencer's to get my car, when a car pulled up in the Dilaurentis' driveway.
I stood across from Jason as he got out shocked that I came over. I half smiled towards him and stood there awkwardly.
"Hey. What are you doing here?" Jason asked closing the car door.
"To apologize. Ever since you came back I've been acting strange. So I'm sorry, especially the way I treated you in your office at school," I said as some wind picked up.
"It's fine. Do you wanna come inside?" He asked gesturing to the door.
"No, I should go, but there's something you should know."
"What?"
"The letters you sent to me after you and your family moved away, I never got them. my parents never gave them to me, so that's why I didn't answer them. I would've if I had known you sent me them," I said rubbing my arms.
"What? Come inside," he said walking towards the door with me following.
"Look Jason, I know I said we should-"
"The letters I wrote to you, I never sent them."
"What?"
"I didn't send them. So how do you have them?" He asked as we sat on the couch.
"Someone found them and gave them to me."
"Candice, did you read them?"
"The first one. Not the rest though."
"Give them back. Please," he begged.
"Why? What did you say?"
"Stuff you shouldn't know."
"Fine, I'll give them to you tomorrow. But I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Yeah, what is it?" He asked relaxing.
"Please don't hate me for saying this, but I think that-"
The doorbell rang interrupting me and I shook my head. Horrible timing, whatever.
"I should go," I said standing.
"Wait, don't go. I'll see who it is," he said walking to the door.
After a few minutes, Jason still wasn't back, so I got up left him a note and left through the back door.
As I got into my car I started laughing at myself. I mean how stupid could I be thinking that telling him I want us to get back together would be a good thing.
Maybe it was A at the door to ruin the moment. It easily could've been, I mean A has impeccable timing for ruining important moments for me and anybody else.
When I started to drive away, I saw a car following me and I started to drive faster towards my house.
When I pulled up, I saw Emily sitting on the porch steps waiting for me. I got out and sat next to her.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," I responded.
"Excuse me, can I borrow Candice for a minute," Jason said coming up out of nowhere.
"Sure," Emily said standing.
"Here's the key. We have tea in the fridge," I said handing her my keys.
After she walked in, Jason and I stood there kinda awkwardly.
"So, uh, what do you need?" I asked.
"Why did you leave?"
"Em texted me saying she was here."
"What did you want to talk to me about?"
Instead of answering, I kissed him, and to my surprise he kissed back. When we pulled away I smiled.
"That I think we should-"
"Get back together."
"Exactly. But I have to go. We'll go out to dinner, tomorrow at eight?"
"Sounds like a date," he said then kissed my head walking to his car.
"I love you," I called.
"I love you too," be said getting into his car.
When I walked in, I saw Emily sitting on the couch smirking at me. I knew what she was thinking, but I didn't care.
After a while, we finally talked about Lt. Tanner and why she was here. All five of us were questioned again by Holbrook and her about the night Ali disappeared.
"We can't keep covering for her," I said as we are some dinner.
"Well, Alison is presumed dead. There isn't much we can do," Emily responded.
"We can convince her to come home."
"She won't do that."
"Em, we have been caught in so many lies because of her. We have been in so much trouble. She owes us."
"She may owe us but that doesn't mean she'll actually come home."
"Some how, I will get her to come back."
