Liars Best Friend

Chapter 13

As I wake up, I see that I'm back in my "room". When I look around the room, I see a card and box on the desk.

Tonight is prom. Get dressed.

I see a beautiful dress in the box when I open it. There's no use in arguing so I put it on and do my hair and makeup.

When I finish, the door is unlocked and I follow the lights to a new room and see it decorated.

The girls look at me and smile. I stand next to Hanna and just stare around the room.

"Charles, you are the King," Emily said as Aria held out the crown.

All of a sudden I'm being dragged outside and all of us see a gate surrounding us.

When we try to go back in, the door locked and it started to rain. Who knows how long we will be out here.

Hot days and cold nights. We were outside for probably a week before A or Charles let us back in.

We went back to be isolated in our rooms, and I sat on my bed and just stared at the wall.

Some time that night, gas filled the room and I fell asleep with some tears dripping down my cheeks.

When I wake up, I'm strapped to a table with the other girls on similar ones next to me.

"What the hell?" Hanna asked waking up.

Eventually we get up and get to our rooms. Mona helped us escape that night but we started a fire and we couldn't find a way to leave.

"Hanna!" We heard Caleb yell through the door.

"Caleb! Help!" Hanna screamed as we started coughing and covering our mouths.

Eventually the door opened and everyone ran out ahead of me. I thought I saw a light, but dismissed it and ran out.

I was caught in somebody's arms and I didn't care who. I kept coughing and hugged the person back.

Soon enough the police and ambulance came. They took all of us, but I had to lay on a gurney the whole way to the hospital.

"Candice, you need to stay awake," a nurse said as they put an oxygen mask on me.

My eyes kept fluttering and I could barely keep my eyes open. Voices surrounded me and someone grabbed my hand but my eyes closed.

As I wake up I hear beeping first, then some voices. Looking around, I see my parents and Jason.

"Mom?" I asked moving.

"Oh, Candice, honey," she said grabbing my hand. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm thirsty," I said.

"Okay. You're dad will go get you're doctor and I'll get you some water," she said standing.

When they left, Jason looked at me in relief and guilt.

"How are you feeling?" He asked sitting next to my bed.

"It could be better," I said. "How are the others?"

"Good. They want to talk to you," he said standing. "Can we talk later?"

"Sure," I nod.

He left and the girls walked in. Emily sat on my bed with Aria and Spencer while Hanna sat next to my bed on a chair.

"Are you okay?" Emily asked.

"As good as I can be. Are you guys?"

"Candy, why did you hesitate?" Hanna asked.

"I thought I saw a light. It was probably  just the smoke getting to my head."

"There was another girl there. Sara Harvey," Spencer said. "She got out though."

"I can't believe there was another girl in there, someone who was tortured a lot longer than any of us," Aria said shaking her head.
