Today's the day of Charlottes funeral, I put my dress on and walk to my car only to be stopped by a familiar face. I smiled, kissed his cheek and he opened my door for me.

When we arrived at the church, he took a seat in the back as I sat next Hanna, who took a sip from her flask. I only laughed at her before the service started.

Alison was bawling by the time the service was over and we all gave her a giant group hug, before I had to leave I walked to the casket and placed a letter I wrote beside her.

"Goodbye, Cece," I whispered before I walked out of the church and met up with my ride.

"You ready?" Jason asked as I stepped in the car.

"Yep, let's go," I said.

He began driving back to my house, and I grabbed his hand, rubbing my thumb over it. He looked over at me shocked, but went back to the road.

"If you want to talk about it-"

"I don't," he said never moving his gaze.

We arrived at my house quickly, and I invited him inside. We each had some water as I prepared dinner.

"Why are being so nice to me?" He asked. "I mean, I've been an ass to you, and your husband."

"Jason, that's in the past. I have to believe we've all matured from that," I said facing him.

"That was about two weeks ago."

"Fine, I've matured from that. You, obviously not."

"Hey. I just want to apologize. I pretty much ruined your life," he said walking towards me.

"And I ruined yours. I'd like to say we're even," I laughed causing him to smile.

"I love you. I'll always love you," he whispered grabbing my waist.

"Jason-"

"I know. But I needed you to hear it. Before-"

I stopped him. Gently placing my lips on his, in a sweet kiss. We pulled away and he had the biggest smile on his face, which made me smile with him.

"I shouldn't be doing this," I said as he placed his head on mine.

"I know. And I know you, so much that you're gonna feel guilty about it. But don't. It was more of a, sorry for your loss type kiss," he said trying to make me feel better.

"We both know that's a lie. And I thought I was done with-"

"What the hell is going on here?" A voice asked.

"Joe?" I asked as Jason took a few steps back.

"I can't believe you would do this to me. Again!" He boomed. He faced Jason. "You need to leave. Now."

"Candy, call me when this is over," Jason said before leaving.

"Why? Why would you do this? We have a baby on the-" he stopped himself. "Is the baby mine?"

"What? Joe, of course-" I began.

"Don't lie to me! Okay? Please just don't lie to me," he begged.

"No," I whispered ashamed. "The baby's not yours."

"Is it his?"

"Yes," I whispered again as some stray tears fell from my eyes. "Yes the baby's his. But he doesn't know."

"I can't-I can't keep doing this," he said sitting at the table.

"I know," I said sitting next to him. "I know."

"We were better as friends. We should've staid that way."

"Listen to me, okay?" He nodded. "I am so incredibly happy to have been your wife. I am. But, we worked together as friends. Since we've been married, I think we lost that."

"I agree," he said. "I love you."

"I love you too."

We kissed for the last time before he went out and found a lawyer.

We are better as friends, that was clear for both of us. Now, I just need to figure out a way to tell Jason about this child. His child.
