Liars Best Friend

Chapter 30

When I woke up, I saw that it was the next morning and I widened my eyes. Wow, that's new.

Quickly, I get ready for work and make breakfast for Caleb and I. After we finished, I drove us to work and got started.

I may have been early, but at least I could help out more today. I'm well rested, hydrated and have a good attitude despite what happened.

When everyone gets here, they do their part and I take a quick break to get some water.

Caleb beat me and we "wrestled" for a bottle. We started laughing and gave up quickly. After having some, I saw Joe just staring at us.

After the day ended, I began to pack all my things and head to my car. Caleb said he would be a couple minutes so my car warmed up as I waited.

Joe came by window and knocked, so I rolled it down and looked at him.

"Hey, what's up?" I asked.

"I wanted to apologize for yesterday," he said.

"It's fine. It was just a really bad day."

"Can we go to dinner? Please?"

"Yeah. Meet you at 6:30?"

"See you then," he smiled and went to his car.

After a few minutes, Caleb finally came and I knew that he just didn't come so Joe could ask me out.

When Caleb and I got home, I began to get ready for tonight. When it came time for the date, Caleb pretended to take a picture as I laughed at him.

"Look, Candice, I know it shouldn't bug me that your friend is living with you, but it does," Joe said after our food arrived.

"I completely understand that, but he seriously has no place to go. And, Caleb and I are just friends. There's nothing to worry about," I explained.

"I believe you. But it's really weird," he stated making me smile.

"You don't know weird," I smiled. "Trust me on that."

Instead of going to classes that night, we, uh, had a session of our own. At his place, in his bed.

It wasn't bad, in fact it was great. The rest of the night consisted of us talking in bed and eventually falling asleep in each others arms.

Kinda romantic if you ask me.

When I woke up the next morning, I got dressed and ran to my place to get ready for work.

When I walked in, Caleb sat at the table with a smirk on his face.

"Shut up," I said smiling then made my way to my room and took a shower.

All day, Caleb teased me and I wanted to kill him because he WOULDNT stop. In all fairness, I didn't exactly tell him too, but he needs to learn body language.

Joe wasn't at work, which I found interesting, but let it go. That night I went to my classes and almost fell asleep.

Joe usually keeps me awake because we sometimes good off. But he's not here. I will ask him about it when I get the chance.
