She picked up her ringing phone, but when she saw the same name for the 13th time that evening, she sighed. She knew he wasn't going to stop calling her, so might as well pick up and see what the man had to say.

- Eli?! Oh my gosh, where are you? I tried to call you several times but you-

- It's okay, Gojo, she replied. You don't have to pretend. I know about your little secret.

- My little.. what? What are you talking about? And where are you?

The man seemed veritably confused, for someone who was seeing two girls at the same time.

- Oh please, I'm not stupid. I know all about your-

She had to interrupt herself as she felt a reflux in her throat. Well, after all the alcohol she had ingested, it wasn't shocking that it wanted to come back out.

- Eliana, are you... drunk?

- Maybe, she replied simply, taking another sip of her gin tonic.

She heard him sigh on the other hand of the line.

- Eli, I need you to tell me where you are. I'm coming to get you.

- No need, Gojo. I can handle myself just fine.

- Eli, please listen to me. Just tell me where you are.

- Why should I? So you can come and rescue me like some damsel in distress? I don't need your pity, Gojo.

- It's not about pity, Eli. I care about you. I fucking...

He stopped for a moment, and Eliana frowned. For a moment, neither said anything, before he finally decided to finish his sentence.

- I just want to make sure you're okay.

- Well, I'm not okay, Gojo, she spat. I thought we had something, but I guess I was wrong.

- Eliana, please. Let me come and talk to you. I don't understand what's going on right now...

- There's nothing to work through, Gojo. I'm... done.

- Not until we've talked this out face to face. Please, just tell me where you are.

She girl sighed loudly. She knew that whatever she did, the man wasn't going to let her enjoy her evening either way. And even if she just hung up right now, that freak would still be able to locate her somehow.

- Fine. I'm at the bar we would often go to with Suguru, in Shinjuku. But don't bother coming. I'll be gone by the time you get here.

- Eli, wait. Don't leave. I'll be there in 20. Please just give me a chance to explain-

- I don't need your explanations, Gojo. Goodbye.

The line went silent as Eliana ended the call, her heart heavy with disappointment. And betrayal. She took one last sip of her drink before sliding her phone back into her pocket.

20 minutes? Too bad for him, she was leaving now. There was no way she was about to confront him right now, especially not in this state.

She paid for her drinks and exited the bar, the cold breeze of the night instantly making her regret she didn't take a sweater. She walked down the dimly lit street, stumbling slightly, the effects of the alcohol starting to hit her harder than she had anticipated.

But as she walked, with no particular destination in mind, her eyes spotted an odd... curse. On the other side of the road. It didn't look very threatening, a grade-3 at most, but there was something unsettling with it. Something... unusual.

Because the curse simply stood there, staring right at her, without moving. She frowned. What an odd behavior for a curse. But was she really seeing this? Or was it just her intoxicated mind playing tricks on her? She blinked, trying to clear her vision, but the curse remained, its presence looming in the darkness.

She eventually decided to crossed the street to get a closer look. The curse didn't flinch or react as she drew near, but when the girl was only a few meters away, it weirdly... moved and disappeared into the dimly lit alley behind him.

With a nervous laugh, she muttered to herself:

- "Well, this is exactly how horror movies start. Following a weird figure in a dark alley at night... Oh, well."

Despite the unease creeping up her spine, she couldn't resist the urge to follow the curse. Something didn't quite seem right about it, and his behavior intrigued her.

As she stepped into the shadows, the chill of the night air seemed to intensify, sending a shiver down her spine. Her footsteps echoed against the damp pavement, each sound amplifying her growing sense of dread.

- "Okay, you got me", she called out, trying to mask her sense of unease with a taunt. "What's your next move? Jump out and scare me?" She chuckled nervously, her eyes scanning the alley for any sign of movement.

But there was no one in sight. And worse, she couldn't even feel the presence of the curse anymore. It was as if he was never there in the first place.

Feeling a mixture of relief and disappointment, she shook her head incredulously.

- "Guess I really am seeing things, I shouldn't have gone that hard on the liquor tonigh"t, she mumbled to herself, turning to leave the alley.

But as she turned to leave, her foot brushed against something on the ground. Curiosity piqued, she glanced down and noticed a crumpled piece of paper lying at her feet. Frowning, she bent down to pick it up.

- "What the hell..." she muttered as she unfolded it.

Her eyes widened in horror as she read the words scrawled across the paper in jagged handwriting:

'𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞'.
