Athena investigates a robbery at a gas station that takes an unexpected turn when the would-be victim turns the tables on her assailant. Meanwhile, Bobby and the 118 race to rescue a novice driver who panics while in a shark cage, and a house sitter terrified of spiders. Then, Eddie reaches his breaking point, Chimney returns to the 118 and maddie shares some news with Ashleigh, who realises she has to come clean with Buck and face the music.
Ashleigh stood up from the couch, pausing her movie and walking towards the kitchen to grab some snacks, when someone knocked on the door...
Ashleigh frowned, walking over to the front door and opening it, revealing Maddie. Maddie stood there, smiling at Ashleigh.
"Hi." Said Maddie.
"Hi. Ah, I can't believe you're home." Ashleigh muttered, hugging Maddie.
Maddie smiled, rubbing Ashleigh's back, and Ashleigh pulled back, looking at her.
"You, uh, y... you seem good." Ashleigh says.
"I am. Finally." Maddie said.
"Oh, uh, wh... wheres Chim? And... and Jee?" Ashleigh asked.
Maddie doesn't say anything while walking past Ashleigh and into the apartment.
Chimney walked over to the front door, opening it and revealing Hen...
Hen and Chimney laughed, hugging each other.
"Welcome home. I have missed you, but not as much as Ashleigh has." Hen tells him.
Chimney groaned lightly.
"Missed you, too. You want a beer?" Asked Chimney.
"Yeah." Hen murmured, stepping into the place.
Chimney patted her on the back, and Chimney closed the front door. Hen sat down at the table, and Chimney grabbed two beers.
"Maddie not around?" Hen asked.
"We broke up."Hen stared at him.
Ashleigh opened the fridge, grabbing a jug of water, and Maddie sat at the counter...
"So, we realised somewhere around St. Louis that it was over." Maddie says.
"After everything you've been through?" Asked Ashleigh.
"All those other times we were apart, it always felt like it was outside forces. Ex-husbands, pandemics. This time, it feels like the call's coming from inside the house." Chimney said, staring at Hen.
"It's hard enough trying to keep a relationship together under the same roof. But not speaking to each other for six months?" Hen asked.
"We grew apart. Or we grew while we were apart, I guess." Maddie mumbled.
"It kind of sounds like he's punishing you for being sick." Ashleigh said, frowning softly.
"No, that's not what's going on. W... we... we made a mutual decision together that this is what's best for Jee. So no one is punishing anyone. Okay? Don't be mad at Chim." Said Maddie.
"I mean, I do still owe him a punch in the face." Ashleigh says.
"I already apologised to Ashleigh. Everything is fine with us." Chimney tells her.
"You punched her, Chim. I mean, you..." Hen mumbled.
"No, I know. I feel really guilty about that. I never meant to physically hurt Ash. And Ashleigh's convinced me to join the team, and I'm ready." Chimney says.
"Mm, yeah. The team's configuration is just a little bit different than when you left." Hen tells him.
"Eddie quit?" Asked Maddie.
"Bobby replaced me?" Chimney asked.
"You and Eddie..." Maddie mumbled, putting her hands over her mouth.
"Ashleigh made out with Eddie?" Chimney asked, staring at Hen in shock.
"Wow." Maddie muttered.
