As Ashleigh's life hangs in the balance, she dreams of a world where she never became a firefighter, for better and worse.
At Buck and Ashleigh's place, Maddie made herself and Wendy some coffee...
"Buck and Ashleigh have really done a beautiful job with the house. I'm just worried about when the baby's born." Wendy says.
"I think they're gonna buy the apartment next door and knock the wall out and make it one big place." Maddie said, pouring some hot water into two cups.
"Hey, once the weather lets up, I thought you, me, and Ashleigh could go to that flower market downtown and maybe get a few bits for the house... a couple of plants, maybe. Brighten it up a little bit.""Ooh, I'm not sure they'd live a long life once the baby comes, but it's worth a shot." Maddie tells Wendy. "I think Ashleigh will love that."
"Yeah, I don't wanna overstep. I just... we've let her down so much... we just want to help. Not that she needs it, and your brother's been amazing to Ash." Wendy says.
Maddie smiled.
"After everything she's been through... I'm just glad she has someone like Buck and you in her life. I just want to see her happy, and she is." Said Wendy.
"She is." Maddie said, smiling softly.
Maddie and Wendy heard Jee babbling upstairs.
"I guess Jee's awake. Okay, Jee, I'm coming." Maddie muttered, walking upstairs into Ashleigh and Buck's bedroom.
Wendy chuckled, and someone knocked on the door.
"Oh, I'll get the door." Wendy says, standing up, walking over, opening the door, and finding a firefighter standing there.
The smile fell off Wendy's face, staring at the man.
"Mr. Bear, you're supposed to be sleeping..." Maddie said, walking down the stairs.
"Maddie!" Wendy shouted.
Maddie stopped on the stairs and then walked down, standing beside Wendy, staring at the man.
Maddie inhaled sharply.
"Which one?"Sirens wailed, and doctors ran out of the hospital...
Bobby and Eddie opened the ambulance, and Hen pulled out the bed.
Chimney was still doing chest compressions.
"Chim, I'll take over!" Eddie shouted, climbing onto the bed railing and doing chest compressions on Ashleigh.
Buck held a mask over Ashleigh's mouth and nose, pumping air into her lungs.
"30-year-old pregnant female, struck by lightning. Full cardiac arrest. She was down three minutes before we started compressions." Bobby says.
"Lightning went through her hands and out of her knee, right down the midline. Could be some damage to major organs." Hen said, staring at the doctors.
"She's in V-tach!" Chimney shouted.
"All right, clear!" Eddie shouted, stepping back from Ashleigh's body.
Buck stepped back, pressing the button, shocking Ashleigh's body.
Eddie placed his fingers against Ashleigh's neck.
"We got a pulse!" Eddie shouted.
The doctors began wheeling Ashleigh away on the gurney.
"Okay, she has a history of blood clotting. She's not currently on any medication, but she does have an allergy to naproxen!" Bobby shouted.
"Got it. We'll do our best!"
"Do more!" Buck and Eddie shouted.
Buck stood there crying softly.
