Athena sat in the passenger seat, touching her necklace and staring out the window.
Beatrice: "Samuel!"
Athena heard a car crashing, and Athena closed her eyes.
Beatrice screamed.
Athena: "Mama?"
Ashleigh and Bobby stared at Athena, and Athena stared at Ashleigh.
"Ooh, he's kicking." Ashleigh mumbled, turning the corner and driving down a road.
Athena, Ashleigh, and Bobby stood in the hospital with Beatrice outside Samuel's hospital room...
"He's in a coma." Athena says.
"Medically induced. It was significant, and we want to give the brain time to heal on its own." Pino said.
"How long will he be sedated?" Asked Ashleigh.
"At least 24 hours. Run more tests, then see where we are tomorrow." Pino says.
Pino, Ashleigh, Beatrice, Athena, and Bobby stood in Samuel's hospital room.
"And then we can take him home?" Asked Beatrice.
"Mrs. Carter, your husband suffered an ischemic stroke." Pino says.
"It's not only a serious but the prognosis is uncertain. Sorry, I'm a paramedic." Ashleigh tells Pino.
"Samuel's very strong." Beatrice says.
"I have no doubt, but we don't know how he will or will not respond to the treatment. We have to be prepared." Pino said.
"Do not t... take that tone with me, young man." Beatrice muttered.
"I think what Dr. Pino is saying is that right now we just need to be patient, that's all." Ashleigh says, looking at Beatrice.
"That's correct. I have to run these tests. He won't even be in this room." Said Pino.
"It's okay, Daddy, I'm here." Athena whispered.
