How did Kumeno Masachika know Hayami in Chapter 8? Well, as it said earlier on how they were acquainted, was because General Haruki is a distant relative to Masachika. General Haruki served under Chief Hiroshi's Command, and remained loyal under the roof of the Mizutsuki clan......
Masachika used to be raised under General Haruki's care along with his younger brother, and used to see Hayami around the residence briefly from time to time, before he became a demon slayer after the death of his younger brother. Soon Masachika found a former wind breathing, so he left the residence the moment he passed the final selection. This occurred long before he met Sanemi.....

Did you know Hayami has found the Dojo as her comfort place, as it has become something that she quite enjoys a lot. Whether you spar with her, or she trains alone.....she finds herself grounded in martial arts that goes beyond more than just fighting.
It also helps herself balance her stress levels, such as her anxiety and panic attack episodes...
If she wasn't a Demon slayer, she would've taken the job as a Dojo instructor and help those to learn self defense and to help those struggling inside themselves. It helps her feel like she's contributing to others, and makes her feel complete.....

Hayami is not one to forget a name or face, as she has been given a good memory in someone's face and name anytime and anywhere. Not as good as Kagaya Ubuyashiki who can remember the many that have fallen, but enough to not leave her in an awkward situation when speaking to someone after a long while.
It helps her gain respect for that trait, which gives her less stress to please others....as she is a people pleaser after all.....

4. THE HEIRLOOM EARRINGS

The Earrings Hayami wears is an heirloom from her mother (The Katayama's heirloom), and from her grandmother etc, as it's a very precious piece. Hayami wears it wherever she goes, as if carrying her mother with her and to honour it with pride when she turned 18. Though she knows they're not for battle, she's determined to keep them on no matter what....
Times she doesn't wear them, is either when sleeping or bathing.
The Earrings is one half a pale green tassel, and the other half is a rectangle with a pattern and a moon symbolising the clan with the same tassel but shorter at the bottom, as it was passed down for generations.
