"Where are my clothes?" First thing Hyunjin asked.
"They had to cut it when they did the operation."
The older male weakly clicked his tongue. "Shit. Uh, my pants. Where is it?"
"They folded it and set it here." Yongbok stood up to reach the folded pants resting on top of the drawer.
"There's something in the right pocket. Take it." Hyunjin ordered and Yongbok did as said. He slipped his hand inside the pocket and his eyes slightly widened, feeling something round inside it. He pulls it out and...
"A ring?"
Hyunjin hummed. "Hm. It's a ring that I'm supposed to wear after I confess to you."
Yongbok wore a mixture of surprise and sadness on his face. The idea of Hyunjin wearing the ring after his confession would probably be the most elegant view Yongbok would store in his brain. But shit happened, and now it's all ruined.
"Why does it look like my…ring?" Yongbok raised his left hand where the ring Hyunjin gave was placed, scanning at it and going back to look at the ring he's holding. "It's a freaking couple ring."
The landlord smiled. "Will you help me wear it, angel?"
"With all pleasure." Yongbok tenderly took a hold of Hyunjin's left hand and slipped the band in the fourth finger. Hearts are drawing out of Yongbok's eyes as he drowns himself with the image of Hyunjin's long, slim fingers and that gold ring—a symbolism of their utmost love and connection. "It's perfect."
"Not as perfect as you."
Hyunjin's claim left a red hue all over Yongbok's cheek. He planted a kiss on Hyunjin's finger, exactly on top of the ring. "I love you."
"I love you so so much." Hyunjin mutters sweetly, but then makes out a groan and laughs. "Shit. That's... I need to get used to that. I've never said that word for almost a year because all I can remember with that word is betrayal and pain."
"Well, it doesn't have to be that way anymore. This new I love you, it will just remind you of me and not anybody else."
"Hundred percent, angel. All yours." Hyunjin looked fondly at Yongbok and slid his hand to lightly caress the young male's bruised cheek, frowning by how red purplish they are. They surely do hurt. Yongbok was so strong enduring it.
"Can I talk to Sam, hyung? I wanna know if he's fine too." Yongbok asked. But then the twinkling smile on Hyunjin faded. He shakes his head and lowers it, much to Yongbok's confusion. "What? Why are you shaking your head? Wha– What happened?"
"He's gone. They're.... g-gone."
"They? Sam…Yin and Yang?" Yongbok cupped Hyunjin's face and saw the visible tears collecting under his eyes. "Oh God."
"When I woke up from the accident, I couldn't hear any of them. I guess I lost them when I crashed my head against the steering wheel."
"Oh hyung... Do you know how they're gonna come back?"
"I don't know. I d-don't know." Hyunjin tried to conceal his cries but to no avail. "I lost Sam from me again, angel. But now with three of them."
Yongbok climbs up the bed and takes the older in his arms, embracing him. "I'm here, hyung. It's gonna be alright. We'll wait until they come back."
Hyunjin throws himself in Yongbok's warm embrace, squeezing his face on his angel's neck. "My head is s-so quiet. N-Nobody was ranting. Nobody's making c-commotion, debates, ruckus, and m-mockings. It's just m-me now. I've never felt like this since forever. I couldn't even remember the feeling of being alone."
