Jennifer's POV:

When I woke up, Daisy was lying beside me, tickling me and saying,

"Wake up, come on!"

She laughed as I groggily opened my eyes, trying to push her away, whilst she kept giggling and prodding me to get out of the bed.

"What's wrong with you, Daisy? Let me sleep."

I mumbled. She replied,

"Get up, I have a plan. Let's investigate Anton Vinson, remember our school friend, Alex?"

"Yeah, the nerdy one."

I said in a sleepy voice.

"Exactly! He's now a top investigator and working in the Crime Investigation Department. I met him last night, and he told me all about it. We'll ask him maybe he can help us."

She said.

"That's a great idea. You're great, Daisy."

I said. She raised an eyebrow, and a naughty smirk appeared on her face.

"I have always been, but you've never admitted it."

She replied, and we laughed loudly.

We took leave from our workplaces and headed towards our mission.

Daisy told me that we would meet Alex at the restaurant. We reached there, but Alex had not arrived yet.

"Is he coming or not?"

I said, feeling frustrated.

"He said he would be on time. I don't know why he isn't here yet. Let me call him."

Daisy replied, taking out her phone. She tried calling him multiple times. Frown appeared on her forehead, and she continued,

"He's not picking up."

"No doubt, he will always be that nerd."

I muttered.

Then a man entered. He was wearing denim pants with a white T-shirt, a blazer, and a cool watch on his hand. He approached our table gracefully.

"I can't believe this. He was a nerd back in school, but now he doesn't look like one. More like a model that came straight out of the newspaper."

I exclaimed in disbelief.

"Hey there, girls, long time no see."

The man greeted with a wide smile, placing his hand in his pants' pocket.

"Shut up, Alex."

Daisy snapped.

"Where have you been? We've been waiting here for an hour like idiots."

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I was stuck in some business."

He apologized.

"Come sit, we have to talk."

She said not wanting to beat around the bush.

He dragged a chair and said,

"Yes, beautiful."

"Cut the crap, Alex. Get on the topic."

Daisy retorted, sending him a death glare.

"Okay, okay, cool. Now tell me, why do you guys remember this poor man?"

He asked.

"You and your third-degree torture comedy."

I said. He giggled and winked at me.
