Jennifer's POV:

At seven in the evening, we came back from work. Daisy and I are at home.

"Daisy, come on, let's do some grocery shopping."

"No Jenny, not today. I am very busy. I have a long list of shows to watch. I have to watch them. Otherwise, they will end up getting angry. We can go on the weekend," she said with a grin and continued watching her show.

"You lazy person. I am worried that we are out of groceries, and you are only concerned about your shows."

Annoyed, I picked up the cushions and started throwing them at her.

"What's wrong with you? I'm not coming with you. Go and do whatever you want," she seethed, her frustration growing.

I started throwing cushions on her when I didn't stop, so she started throwing them back at me. We ended up having a full-blown cushion fight, laughing and shouting. Eventually, we got tired, and both collapsed on the couch, laughing like maniacs.

Then I pulled her into the room.

"Go and get ready. You have just 5 minutes," I said firmly.

We both hurriedly got dressed. I wore a T-shirt with pants, my hair flying freely. Daisy opted for a top with shorts, and we both applied subtle makeup before leaving the house.

----------------

In the grocery store, we selected important items. However, we couldn't find some things, so we decided to check out the next store nearby. Diasy was still selecting, so I decided to go on my own.

I was walking on a dimly illuminated street, faded in my own thoughts. Air was light today, making my hair flow even more. Lost in my own train of thoughts, I forgot to take a note of my surroundings.

In that instant, a man approached me and demanded money. Instinctively, I started running in the opposite direction. Another man blocked my path and brandished a gun, uttering,

"Hurry up, take out all your money," he urged.

I attempted to escape, but he pushed me, almost causing me to fall face first. Just as I stumbled, two strong and firm arms wrapped around me, steadying me back on my feet.

I glanced up and saw Mr. Vinson, watching the goons with rage evident in his eyes. Slowly, his predatory eyes shifted to mine. As our eyes locked, a charged silence enveloped us, freezing the moment in time.

He averted his gaze towards the goons and moved me behind him. I hid behind his broad shoulders, risking a peek once again.

Pushing the assailant aside, he glared fiercely and clenched his teeth. "How dare you?" he growled, delivering a powerful punch to the man's face, igniting a brawl.

In the midst of the fight, I noticed a small stone nearby. Quickly, I ran over and picked it up, my fingers wrapping around its rough edges. Driven by the urgency of the moment, I aimed to support Mr. vinson in an ongoing fight, my heart pounding with adrenaline.

However, my attempt to intervene went wrong as my grip on stone faltered, and I accidentally hit Mr. Vinson's head.

His face twisted with frustration. He sighed, as he instinctively reached up to rub the spot where the stone had hit.

"I was just trying to help," I said, feeling embarrassed.

Mr. Vinson gave me a sharp look, his eyes showing annoyance.

"Thank you so much for trying,"

he said sarcastically, his voice tinged with irritation as he continued fighting.

"But I think I can handle it myself."

I shook my head and crossed my arms.

Mr. Vinson beat them so badly that they all ran away. Then he returned to me and said, "When they were demanding it, you should have given it. There was no room for argument. Be mature for once atleast. There's no need to argue all the time."

I ignored whatever he was muttering, as my focus turned solely to the blood dripping from his hand. He was clenching his hand every now and then.

"Does it hurt?" I attempted to touch it, but he retreated, replying curtly,

"No, it doesn't. I'm fine."

Daisy arrived and asked, "Where were you?"

"I'll explain everything later," I assured her.

"By the way, thank you so much, sir," I said to Mr. Vinson. He looked at me blankly, his face devoid of any emotion. He left without saying anything.

On the way home, I recounted everything to Daisy.

----------------

I was in my office, focused on my tasks, when Daisy burst in, clearly agitated. "You forgot your phone in the car, you idiot, and now I have to come back for it," she exclaimed, her frustration evident.

"Oh, darling, you're so sweet," I teased her.

"I'm blazing with anger. Shut up, you jerk," she snapped back.

"Then let's cool down your anger with an iced latte prepared by Chef Jake," Jake said he entered the office with three cups.

"I was preparing for Jenny and me, and then I saw you, so I immediately prepared for you."

"Thanks, but I have to leave for work."

"Just try it. It tastes amazing," he added with a wink. Daisy's cheeks flushed, and she began to blush as they exchanged glances.

Feeling like the third wheel, I interjected, "Hey, I'm also here, the scene spoiler." They both laughed, and we sat together in my office, enjoying our coffee.

As we were engrossed in conversation, a figure passed in front of the door, then returned, arms were crossed, standing straight at the entrance of the office. "May I serve something else?" he asked.

"No, no, we're fine," Daisy replied casually. When she noticed my expression, she turned back and was shocked to see Mr. Vinson is standing there.

"If you guys don't know, partying is strictly prohibited during working hours. Get back to your work," Mr. Vinson said sternly, his tone cold and commanding.

"We were just..." Jake attempted to explain, but Mr. Vinson interrupted him sharply. "You come to my office, we'll discuss this there," he stated firmly before striding away.

"I have to leave before that rude jerk blows up at me," Daisy muttered, clearly irritated. With that, they all exited the room.

"He's always like this. So arrogant. What does he think of himself?" I grumbled to myself, feeling so irritated by Mr. Vinson's behaviour.

Unexpectedly, Mr. Vinson returned, causing me to startle.

"Done talking about me? Now, give me today's meeting file," he demanded, his gaze piercing. I hastily handed him the file, and he left the office without another word, his expression filled with irritation.
