Jennifer's POV....
The light came from the front. I sighed in relief, but then a thought crossed my mind that who would be there? It could be anyone. This thought send shivers down my spine and i was so scared.
I was still sitting next to the table, then quickly hid under it. A person came inside after some seconds another step echoed through the dark and silent room. My heart was pounding, my eyes were wide and I was in full fight or flight mode.
They were sweeping their flashlights all over the office, casting beams in every direction, creating eerie shadows on the walls. I tried not to make a sound while holding my breath. I placed my hand over my mouth to suppress the sound of my heavy breathing.
In an instant, the phone rang and broke the silence. The sound of footsteps moved towards the exit and the ringing faded. One person was gone outside and the other was still in the room.
I was frantically searching for something to defend myself with, but the desk offered no options. As the person drew closer, the distinct sound of the heels echoed in the quiet room. So she is the woman. When she turned away momentarily, I seized the opportunity and grabbed the nearest object a flower vase as my weapon.
Just then, another figure burst into the room. "There she is!" the woman exclaimed, her voice piercing the silence. Reacting on pure instinct, I sprang to my feet, my senses heightened, adrenaline coursing through my veins. With a swift, forceful motion, I hit the vase at the person's head. the impact was echoing through the room. The pieces of the broken vase scattered all over.
In a surreal moment, the lights flickered on and the room was illuminated. As I took in the scene before me, a mixture of horror and disbelief washed over me. I stood frozen, my hands were instinctively flying to cover my mouth, my eyes wide with shock at what I had just done.
Olivia was standing there her mouth widened and eyes became wide as saucers. She was staring in horror.
Meanwhile, Mr. Vinson scowled in pain he was holding his head tightly. As Olivia stepped forward to help Mr.Vinson, I also ran to his side, gently supporting his head.
"My apologies, I regret," my voice was breaking. "I was afraid someone else might be there. Are you okay?" I asked, concern evident in my voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine. "Now I'm used to these type of things. Don't you worry." Mr.Vinson said sarcastically.
Olivia grabbed his hand and called, "Let's go to the hospital."
"No, I'm fine." It's nothing," he replied casually, dismissing her concern.
"Have you lost your mind, Anton? You should go to hospital," she exclaimed, her concern was turning to disappointment.
"Olivia, I am fine." Mr.Vinson said while gritting his teeth, and he left the office.
Olivia looked at me, her expression was a mixture of concern and anger, before she left as well.
I was deeply ashamed of my action and my cheeks flushed with embarrassment. I sighed heavily and headed to the exit.

When I reached the parking lot Mr. Vinson and Olivia were still arguing. She was urging him to see a doctor, but he was refusing.
"At least let me bandage it. Why are you so stubborn?" she requested. "You've already losted too much blood."
"When I say I'm fine, Its mean I'm fine. And I don't like to repeat myself."
I couldn't stand seeing him suffer in pain, so I ran to my car and fetched the first aid kit. Then rushed to him, without warning I pushed him to sit on the curb, as he sat he tried to stand but I grabbed his shoulders tightly and couldn't let him stand.
As I was applying ointment to his wound with care. He was watching me intently, which makes me a bit awkward. A smile crept onto my face and I looked into his eyes. Then he shifted his gaze to the road.
As I was wrapping his head with the bandage, I noticed Olivia's shocked expressions.
"At least someone make him agree," Olivia said, glaring at Mr. Vinson. He shifted his gaze, looking at her as if trying to communicate something silently. She didn't break her stare and continued to glare at him as she walked away. She was fuming in anger.
"Olivia," he called out, but she didn't respond.
I couldn't understand what was going on, but I definitely didn't liked the way his eyes seemed to plead with her. It made me uncomfortable.
He then turned his attention to me, his eyes watching me closely. After I finished wrapping up, he asked, "May I leave now, madam?"
"Yes, sir," I replied with a smile.
He stood up from the curb without breaking eye contact and turned to leave.
After reaching the car he opened the door and paused for a while then placed his hand on the door, and turned back to face me. His expressions suddenly became cold and his body stiffened. His eyes shifted from, gazing to glaring.
"Don't think I'm not noticing anything. I know what you're trying to do. Stay away from me. Do you understand?" His voice was cold and firm.
Without waiting for a response, he slid into the driver's seat and shut the door. A loud thud echoed in the air. The engine roared to life, and he drove off.
I stood there, bewildered, anger bubbling up inside me.
"I call him 'devil' for a reason," I whispered to myself, was feeling so frustrated.

Until then....
